What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase?

Today my dealer delivered my long awaited package finally.

It is the 149 90th with B-nib. The M and F nibs were delivered at him a while ago, while the B nib was difficult to get.

Filled it with Royal Blue. First impressions is that it writes very smooth. The other B's I have are on several WE's. I can not say they are scratsy, but they are stubbish and sometimes I can feel the corners/squared nib. This 149 is less squared.

Here in comparison with a regular 149 BB.

not exactly a recent purchase per se, but here it is anyway. some time ago i was fortunate enough to land a 149 for just $270 from ebay.ca, and even doubly lucky to find that it sported a BB italic nib. however, the pen had a few problems--a broken feed, and a hairline that might have been the start of a crack in the barrel. i brought it our local MB boutique in manila, which took it in for repairs (in MB hong kong). i got it back yesterday. the repairs cost another $175, but they gave me a brand-new barrel, feed, and piston, and i suspect they put a new clip on the cap and then burnished the cap, so it's like a brand new pen. the sweetest part of the pen is still the nib, which i adjusted a bit for a smooth, wet flow. here it is (on R&K sepia):

i'd been thinking of selling this, but now this will be a keeper (alongside two other 149s, each with its own virtues, but what the heck...)

I've also just picked up a second hand 149 from a dealer in the UK with a B nib, it writes smooth though a little on the dry side when held straight on, wetter when held slightly to one side. I think i may take it into my local Montblanc shop when I get home for them to take a look at it.

Curiosity got the best of me and I bought a 234 with a large alloy nib.

Please share some photos when you receive it.

I just bought a used Montblanc Faulkner (no box or papers) on EBay from a reputable pen dealer. I hope it doesn't have the leaky section problems that some of these pens are noted to experience. I'll post a photo when I receive the pen in a few days. I had been watching for a Thomas Mann but this pen turned up in the USA, I have seen it and like it, so I decided to jump in with a bid or two. I was actually a bit surprised to win it.

I just got Dandy Turquoise ink in the mail from overseas today. Just got done testing it in my EF 149 and M Classique. WOW this is an amazing color! Seems like the recently purchased Permanent Blue will be going untouched now :)

I bought a bottle as well and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it.

Maybe we can convince them to make it a regular color! I'm more of a blue fan but they don't make any blues that I really love as much as this color.
