While vacationing in San Francisco, I spotted a Montblanc Boutique near Union Square. The 90th Anniversary 146 was on display in the window, and so I stopped in to have a closer look and ended up buying one with a broad nib. It writes a nice wet line.

Fantastic rare find, congrats! In what condition are the sac and bar? What is the nib width? This will make an excellent addition to your collection.

Congrats! I have seen plenty of pictures of the 149 but none of the 146. Could you take some photos of your new pen for us?

Thanks orfew.

The bar was fine, but it needed a new sac, so i put a new one in it.

I think it´s a M or B size nib and it writes very nice and smoothly.

All i need now is another snowcap.

Thank you very much opooh.

I think it´s a prewar german made, to my knowledge only 20, 25, 30 and 40 were made in denmark ( but i´m not 100 % sure).

Just happened to come across a 'mint' Bordeaux Classique ballpoint on ebay today. I would prefer the Legrand or even the Classique rollerball BUT the Bordeaux has been my favorite from day one and for the price and condition of this pen, I couldn't resist. It should arrive the same time my fountain pen arrives from MB service!

I keep thinking about selling some of my pens but all that happens is I keep acquiring more!

MB 149 and Noblesse FP.

Some minor issues with the 149, the whole pen was polished with a cloth buffing wheel mounted on a

bench grinder :o and the silver/rhodium plate on the nib was complete Polished Off :yikes: :yikes:

I was able to negotiate the price due to this but aside from that, the B nib is very smooth and wet,

the feed is split-ebonite. No serial or Pix but with Germany on the clip band. Aside from the nib plating

being taken off issue, the whole pen is like brand new, no scratches or marks at all. Any info on the probable age of this FP will be greatly appreciated.

This is the nib where the silver/rhodium plate was buffed off, making it a monotone nib

Notice the brass ring on the outer side? Never seen something like this before..usually its one piece.

Jsolares go for the 149 90th if you get one. Since you already like the size, it would be a good fit for you. I found the nib to be a lot more attractive than the 146. I also found the rose gold to have a subtle tone.

Bought a Dumas fountain pen this weekend. Previously used but looked good in the photos. Waiting for it in the mail. I've been wanting this one for a while so I am excited to try it out. Well add it to the rotation when it arrives.
