Some commodities acquired recently. B)

I have never used grey inks as this recalls of pencil writing.

However, this limited edition has converted me.

The more I write, the more I like.

My first 149 from www.appelboompennen.nl/ with EF nib. I was surprised to find that it is EF indeed, something like 0,3 mm width yet smooth, medium wet and soft flex.

Many congrats!

Hope you will enjoy the pen for many years!

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

Thank you Orfew. I have a hard time saying no to a good deal and i both like the old MBs as well as some of the newer ones.

I'm still wondering if i really need a 149 or 146 but at the current retail prices (no used market to speak of, no pen show, barely any fountain pen usage either) it's a though pill to swallow, might just wait to get one next time i go to the US or Europe, but still, got a bottle of the lovely bordeaux :)

Not a new new purchase. But, it is rather a nib swap for my 146. I just dropped off my 146 for a nib exchange from M to OM. The M nib on my 146 was messed up for some reasons and I decided to replace it with something more interesting.

My collection: 149 EF/F/B/OBB, Collodi B/Twain F/Mann F, 146 M, Silver Barley F, M1000/M800 B'o'B/M800 Tortoise/Sahara/415 BT/215/205 Blue Demo, Optima Demo Red M/88 EF & Italic/Europa, Emotica, 2K/Safaris/Al-Stars/Vista, Edson DB/Carene BS, Pilot 845/823/742/743/Silvern/M90/Makies, Sailor Profit Realo M/KOP Makies/Profit Makies/Profit 21 Naginata MF&M/KOP/KOP Mosaiques/Sterling Silvers,Platinum #3776 Celluloids/Izumos/Wood pens/Sterling Silvers,YoL Grand Victorian, and more (I lost counting)

Splurged big time and invested in two little used Montblanc 149s. I didn't intend to get two as one was listed as a Legrand and I presumed it to be a 146….but I am not complaining!

Hi,

This arrived in the post today (apologies for the quality of the photo, but my heart wasn't in it, and I was perfectly happy, came in its original box, seems authentic, original paperwork dating it to 1999 .... but no piston! I added this story to the Joy turns to tears' thread.

MB service will get one in for you. Perhaps you could negotiate with the seller for the price of this service.

Hi Blade Runner,

I've already completed an on-line inquiry with MB, and contacted the Auction House sending them the photos. There was no mention of 'As Found' in the listing, and when selling a quality pen, such as this, I'd have expected them to at least open it up. If they offer compensation to cover say 50% + of the MB servicing costs, then I'll still be happy. If it has a happy outcome then I'll let you all know.

All the best ... Mario

I got my first Montblanc today in the mail. It's a Starwalker in Midnight Black.

I bought it off an online classified new and unused for just $200AUD (including postage). Admittedly there's a small engraving on cap but it's barely noticeable and nothing personal. Apparently it was an unwanted corporate gift.

Here's hoping I can find a few more unwanted gifts like that in the future!

From what I could tell, perfect. Came with it's box + manual and still had its dummy cartridge in the feed / black ink cartridge unused down the other end of the barrel.

Hello from Hong Kong. I'm new to the forum. Most recent purchase hmmm it was made quite some time ago. Can't remember how long ago - it's a Meisterstück 149 - 75th Anniversary. I love the rose gold ring and mother-of-pearl snow cap. But for everyday writing I use a Pelikan M730 silver M-nib and an English Parker 45 ball pen passed down to me by my late father.
