Two lovely model 246 with F and EF-F nibs are on their way to me, late 40s and early 50s. Pictures when they've arrived.

Very nice, can't wait for the photos. Are they piston fillers or button fillers?

The 246s were shipped yesterday, so they might just arrive on Friday. If not, I'll have to wait till after the weekend.

I got this one a couple of days ago, a 146 from around 1993.

My latest acquisition, a 644. Lovely nib - I think probably semi flex rather than full flex. It is in any event nice and broad. A well used but not abused pen, some of the imprints are a little faded. Nevertheless I am pleased with it :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I seem to be lurching ever deeper into the murky world of vintage MB's.

This time a green striated 142. A grail pen for some time, I finally rescued this from Sarj at the Bristol pen show recently....

Congrats. I have one of those and love it. It is surprising how much ink it holds considering it is a small pen. I hope you enjoy this one for many years.

Picked up a John Lennon last week from a great guy in Cheshire. I am giving this to my son later in the year as a 21st gift. Great packaging / huge box and like the 'Imagine' single that is included with it. Now the only thing I dont like about the whole thing is that it is a roller ball but I bought this knowing he would struggle with a fp so hopefully it will be well received.

Dear Pen Nut,

I have the Lennon RB and love it. The packaging is very large, but I like that it is packaged like an LP. What a lovely gift. I hope your son will use it and enjoy it for many years to come.

Best,

I only just started enjoying fountain pens. I'm stepping up from a Pilot Metropolitan to a 146. I've got a few MB rollerballs that I love, so I figured that I might as well stick with the brand.

I've learned from other hobbies to just get the thing you actually want right off the bat, it saves a lot of money in the long run. I was tempted by the 149, but I think that one might be too big for me to use comfortably. I can wait until I can get to a fp shop to try one out in person.

Z-Tab,

First welcome to the forum. Second, what part of CA are you from? If you are in the Orange County area, there's a Montblanc shop in South Coast Plaza.

Beautiful 149!

OC Mike, I'm in LA. I know of a couple of shops near me, I just have to make the time to get out to them.

You'll not regret it..or maybe you will if you can't resist the temptation! :)

Regards,

LOL!!!!!

Just another 149. In regards to a 149 demonstrator- it's like saying a Ferrari 250 LM is just another car.

Great pen BTW- enjoy.

Regards

Con

Thanks, but I found it a bit blasé to mention the demonstrator without the pictures.
