Gold plated 742 14 C F 'flexi' classic nib at a live auction. Beautiful nib. The pen's a bit heavier than I'm use to. I'd not expected to bid on it. But it almost didn't get a bid. My bid allowed some idiot on a telephone to bid against me.

Had I been smart, I'd let it die, and come back and bought it for the starting bid later.....the money one pays to learn stuff. :headsmack: :doh:

 

I'd gotten my 234 1/2 deluxe semiflex 14 C KOB at the same auction house four years ago. Was the 'other' pen in a Pelikan lot. I was very noobie and didn't have the slightest idea of what I had then. Do now. :)

 

Also got a Woolf, normal modern 'springy' 18 K nib at a B&M sale two years ago.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

Nice! I just got a 161 to go with my daily work horse 149. Now also looking for Mechanical pencil.

finally, I have found the only pen with an EF nib - I think it was the only one in the country :-)

 

after reading some topics here about the different nib sizes, I was worried about the EF, but this is the perfect nib, at the moment I enjoy more than my Sailor nibs, although the MB have a little more feedback than those japanese masterpieces.
