Thank you Carlos! The nib is a steel-alloy nib and though the blind cap is stamped medium it writes quite a bit finer. Moreover, the nib has amazing flexibility easily going from EF/F to BB. I never thought a steel nib could be soooo good.

congrats on the pen and happy writing

The steel nibs on the 130 series pens are amazing. Next to the 139 the 138 is my favorite vintage MB. I have 2 138's. One is the long ink window version with the steel nib and the other one has an 18C number 6 nib. My 138 with the 18C nib was made for export to the French market. Enjoy your 138 in good health.

My most recent addition - a size 4 button filler in platinum stripe, made in Italy. A couple of quick snaps.

Many congratulations Konis. Really appreciate the fact that you photographed the pen so well, and with the catalogue reference

As for me, at long, long last I have managed to track down and acquire an L73 :) (pity they don't have a 'giggling like a school girl' emoticon!).

This fabulous pencil is on its way to me and even comes complete with its original box! I have wanted to find one of these for sooooooooooooooooooo long. Can't wait to see it beside my L71 and L72. Should be with me this week :cloud9:

Pavoni.

Congrats Pavoni. I can't wait to see pictures of it. Please add it to your pinned thread and tell us the history of these beautiful pencils. I have the L72 and am looking for the L73 and L71.

They are pretty amazing. I really love the 138 and I can see it becoming a core part of my collection as I wouldn't mind picking up a couple more. The 139, on the other hand, is just drop dead gorgeous. I'm already saving my pennies for one of those. Penboard has two available right now but I don't have the funds at the moment nor can I justify purchasing one after I just purchased a 138. I have a feeling by the new year I will have a 139 if all goes write (right).

Also, another thing I love about this 138 is that I have been using it everyday since I got and have filled about 30 A5 sheets of paper and the barrel still is about 80% full of ink. It holds a ton of ink! Comparable to my new style OMAS Paragons which hold about 2.2 ml.

Kevin, I've seen those two, but last Friday someone listed a beautiful and in very good condition L139 on e-Bay with a "buy-it-now" price of USD 2,500. That is almost half the price asked for the Penboard ones. Obviously it was taken shortly. But I guess these opportunities do come up from time to time.

I saw that one. There have also been a couple in about the 2200 USD range. There was also one in need of restoration that went for 900 USD. Bet the winner was happy with that one once he/she got it restored.

I'm keeping my eyes open.

Most recent MB purchase, but not only MB purchase...

So, today I have purchased 149 with a special nib and chocolate Florentine case for this beauty. It was a privilege to pay with a nice discount. As a gift I was was given a piece of a cleaning cloth and a leather conditioner. As you can see the pen is equipped with O3B nib. The writing is very smooth but my hand is to be trained to maintain the proper angle ... It is a new experience to me in writing...

I am a humble person mostly. ... but today I add to my joy another thing.... It is also a great experience.... Great boots, boys and gals, .... it is a pair of Viberg 1950 service boots... great feeling... forgive me this off topic....

Lovely 149, Zdenek. Nice pictures too. :D

I really like the 142 as well, collectiblepens. I saw your other post with the picture of it. I'm sure you'll be able to restore those accent rings.

Most recent MB purchase, but not only MB purchase...

So, today I have purchased 149 with a special nib ..... (O3B)

... That nib is a great one and very smooth ... this 149 is my THIRD one. This "special" 149 with the most special nib is my purchase after 9 yrs from the last purchase of an FP.

A purchase of a new 149 is an unique experience, anyway....

Love the Vibergs, Zdenek. I love workboots, my standard winter boot is a pair of Red Wing 877s.
And, on a more related topic, I have a wartime 236 with BB nib that I recently purchased. I'm using the seller's photo as they illustrate the pen sufficiently.
The nib is a BB but its extremely stubby with ridiculously fine cross strokes and very broad downstrokes. Its quite nice.
