A quick search would do no harm.........85AKbN.....Et al

But my comment still stands. I doubt whether the Queen would have used such a second line pen, especially as it would be at least 15 years old (I do not watch Netflix, so do not know when the event was supposed to be).

In Columbo's episode "Double Exposure", the suspect has a desk set, that consist of a one page per day small calendar with 2 arched rings in a leather or, leather like tan box with a pen slot containing a matching tan pen.

The episode is from 1973, so the pen might be a ballpoint.

If you search book style desk calendar base, you will find pictures of the most basic base, they are still sold in various material in 2020.

This is a still from the Gary Hustwit's film about Dieter Rams (Rams, 2018) where Dieter Rams is discussing with the current head of design at Braun (c. 1969 or something). You can clearly see an iconic pen on the table (well the top part with the cap) on the right...

To me, that looks like a Parker ‘IM’.

The current model in that cross-hatched finish would be an ‘IM Premium Dark Espresso’, but the one in your photo looks like it’s a dark grey or black one. That finish is no longer in the current line-up.

Unless it’s the Dark Green one - see e.g. here.

For the pen... NO...

But I have to wonder if that pen is even inked. It sure looks, at that angle, like her fingers are gripping the nib and feed!

The pen body reminds me of a Montegrappa Zero uno but the crown, clip and cap ring are not quite right...

Parker IM much more likely (as stated above)

This clip was awesome. I haven't seen that movie in ages so I had completely forgotten this scene.

But ignorance is bliss... and google is the first step to curing ignorance

Just watched Nutcracker: The Untold Story (aka Nutcracker in 3D). Mary (the "Clara" character) is shown writing a letter or Christmas card in the opening scene (which she drops when her little brother bothers her) and then later uses it to spray ink into the face of IIRC, the Rat King. Didn't get a good look but it was some sort of black lever-filler pen. There's also a shot of an open and posted gold or gold-filled pen on her father's desk.

Film is set in Vienna, ca. 1920.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

For what it's worth, many years ago while touring the Freud House museum in Vienna, I observed that there was a Sheaffer Flat Top on the desk. Can't say for sure that the pen itself was original to Dr. Freud, but the entire arrangement of objects on the desk - including the figurines with which he famously surrounded himself - was represented as being authentic possessions of his accumulated during the creation of the museum. No desk sets, though.

I was watching it today and paused it. It gets a bit blurry but looking at the design on the nib I think it may be a Diplomat! Either way it’s a great movie and always glad to see a fountain pen cameo. Particularly when it’s not an obvious Montblanc. (I love Montblancs too)
