When I offer up diferent colors of pens for sale, I am always interested to find out which color comes out on top...

 

So, the battle of two cumlaude, two giants in the world of celluloid.... which color will reign supreme??? (to be spoken in the tone of that Iron Chef announcer).

 

Day one: Blue/grey: 8 vs. Brown: 6

Day two: Blue/grey: 10 vs. Brown: 3

Day 3 so far: Blue/grey: 2 vs. Brown: 11

 

Blue/grey led for 2 days, but brown is really coming strong today. In fact, number sold is a dead tied. Very interesting!

The way I look at this is that the money you saved, you can probably hire a nibmeister to modify the nibs to Italic?

I asked Kevin this question several months ago. I recall he said the installed nibs are Bock #6. Bock makes nibs for Visconti, Bexley and Stipula, so any of those brands or a Bock labled nib should work. Personally, I am happy with the steel nibs on mine.

 

Okay I admit it. I have two Cum Laudes, one in each color. But I cannot resist this offer, so I have another blue/gray underway.

Just received my "brown" Cumlaude. What a beautiful pen, very well executed, and the nib is just great: on the finer side of Medium with nice flow and smoothness.
