Looking For A Square Peg For A Round Hole

I recently found an old Exacompta planner that I thought I would repurpose into a refillable journal. I haven't had much luck finding what I think would be appropriate refills.

 

The planner is an Exacompta Visual (6 x 8 1/4 inches or 15 x 2 cm). The refill # is 20840. While I might be able to find one that fits the width and height dimensions, I worry most about how thick the journal refill would be.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

5 7/8" x 8 1/8" should fit that but not sure how thick these journals are: Clairefontaine Basic (no affiliation with writer's bloc)

 

There's actually another thread with the opposite question, trying to find a journal cover that fits the A5 clairfontaine journal.
