If you paid by credit card, you can always call your credit card and request a chargeback. I have done this at least three times with unscrupulous sellers (mostly ebay, of course). If you pay with Paypal and used the credit card option, you can also request a chargeback from your credit card company as the goods and services were not delivered. Paypal does not like it, but they just take the money back from the seller.

An eye for insignificant details is a good sign you will do just fine in medical school...

As a sharp wit and powerful sarcasm is a sign that you already have.

Oh guys, I'm so sorry to hear this! :bawl: Any changes in the delivery status? News about Mr. Ackerman?

I really wish I could buy one of those pens, but now I'm too worried learning about all these bad experiences people are having with the (non)shipment. :gaah: :crybaby:

Keep us updated please.

Just want to share a bitter experience I had with the Ackerman Pump Pen here.

It has been a bad shopping experience and I remained unhappy since i received my pen.

My experience with this pen is virtually identical to that described by NickKH in his original post.

It was so unreliable and unpredictable that I couldn't risk carrying it around, which rather cancels out the reason for buying it in the first place.

Hmmm, that's your solution? Seriously? Try and sway public opinion in your favor by posting this reply in a public forum? Don't you already have NickKH's information? He is your customer, after all. And it sounds like he has been trying to make contact with you for quite awhile - his original post about this issue was back in August of 2010!! And what about all the other customers that have been posting to this board about undelivered product, like here, for instance:

Non -replies to their requests for information, credit cards being charged without shipping product (pretty sure that's illegal, btw). Man, you have got to be kidding, Mr. Ackerman.

Please, tell me I'm missing something here!?!

I should have known better and didn't do my homework here. Out of impulsion on 21st of feb, I made a bid on one of these pump pens on ebay. I vaguely recalled some years ago reading on the less than positive experiences on the shipping times and avoided buying from the official ackerman webpage assuming i am dealing with another party with a 100% feedback now. In the end i won the bid to realise i was dealing with Mr Ackerman himself. Funny he was able to respond to me within an hour before i bid for the pen on a question asked. After winning and paying up, my attempts to get hold of him were in the same line of fate as the unfortunate handful. His phone number listed too was a dead end. I jumped back on to the forum and deja vu, seems like i bought myself into a sinking boat reading some of the threads and posts on the topic. I was half disappointed by then. In the end after days of waiting and a few mails later with no replies. I pretty much ended with a one liner, a finale telling him its my last message regarding shipping. Immediately 2 messages came to buy time, claiming its the weekend he could not track his shipping records and "vaguely" recalling that it probably has been sent out already and will get back to me on monday.

Days followed with no replies and more waiting, i filed a report on ebay and got back the $29+ in less than 24 hours. For once i realised I should have been more frugal not on the cost of my expenditure but on who i am actually dealing with. What an absolute nightmare. I went deeper to his feedbacks there were some negatives and they were more than 12 months old thus ebay overlooked those. Now i got my money back i am not sure if i should give him a negative. I never had to give anyone a negative but this seems to be an exception given the joyride some of us have naively bought ourselves into. Pump pen... no thanks.

glad I didn't order any of these ackerman nightmares

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

this basically sums up my experience with Ackerman last month.

Thought i give the guy a chance since:

1) its almost 1 year ago this post was made

2) he started a blog promising quick responce.

BUT its all not to be.

You CAN'T get on his blog, cause he don't register you.

He answers email BUT not about shipping.

sigh....

Sad to hear that their service hasn't improved, I've been keeping my eye out for comments about the pump pen and found his(Ackerman) comment about improved service and new models in June but it appears nothing has changed. It's a real pity as I really like the idea of the pen and using dip nibs but not having to actually dip.

FINALLY

it arrived.
Just a matter of communication about deliveries.
Given the history ( as above ), I think Mr Ackerman should OVER COMMUNICATE.

The below was written with several pumps, almost every other word.
Still beats dipping each word that I am doing now with Zebra and reservoir.

I recently purchased one of Ackerman's new G8 pump pens, with a Manga G nib. It arrived here in Australia within 10 days of ordering - which I think is excellent. I had trouble getting the cap off the first few times, but after working it on and off repeatedly for an hour or so, that problem has been solved. I have filled it once with an eye dropper but spilt a lot of ink (the dropper end was too thick for the reservoir). I need to purchase a blunt syringe before filling it again.

How does it work? Fine, though pumping takes a little practice. It is much better than a previous version that I purchased a few years ago.

Overall, I like the Ackerman G8 pen a lot.

And yes, I would order another.

When I have purchased a syringe and had a bit more practice I will put up some pics (assuming I can figure out how to upload them).

I would rather wait a a month at this price that buy a $$$ vintage that may or may not be flex and I can't throw on the floor and step on it when it fails to deliver.

If you can write like that with that pen, it is a nice pen no matter what. He should come and live in the USA, won't he? So he is able to deliver fast merchandise.

Well, I have to give it a chance, I ordered the Mitchell Pump Pen Senior on Oct 6 2014, lets see how long does it takes to arrive all the way to México ;)

I ordered the Manga Pump Pen at 11 September, but I have not yet received the item (I live in Japan).

I sent some asking e-mails to Mr. Ackerman, and at only the first time he replied his apologizing mail. But I have no response from him after the mail. Is he (or the Ackerman Pen) reliable ? I wonder whether I should file a claim to the Paypal.

Hi,

I am currently looking for a Overfeed Nib in a hope that this will prolong the ink on the nib to get a better ink follow during Copperplate/Spencerian writting. Ackerman adds an overfeed to one of their nibs, but I have not had any replies from emails I have sent to date. Is this organisation still operating?

Secondly; is there any other pen with an overfeed to the nib, at a resaonable cost, that is currently available?

In anticipation of help, than thanks

Should have read this before ordering mine.

Numerous emails and calls and never heard about my order status.

Writing give me the opportunity to reflect and be mindful about the present moment.
