I've just heard from the buyer who has apologised and has kept the pen. Thanks to you all for the information that enabled me to convince him that the pen was genuine.

Regards

Tim

That is excellent news. I'm glad it turned out well all around.

A good offense is the best defense, and I suspect your buyer is coming out guns-a-blazing because he/she doesn't like it for whatever reason. As Richard notes, the 61 wasn't a pen to fake. Second, I doubt there's anyone at Parker/Waterman in Paris (or where ever in France the place is) who knows there ever was a 61, let alone what it looks like.

I would concur that you simply offer a refund to protect your Ebay rating. I'm not that knowledgeable on these matters, but can a seller report a buyer who doesn't play nice?

Hi.. I am on Ebay since 2003 .. with 100% feed back seller and buyer .. I would advise you to refund him the money cause simply once Ebay & Paypal get into it you shall lose the money and get a negative feed back in your profile without having the chance to defend yourself .. Only buyers now can post negative feedback (: :bawl:

Commiserations to the OP, but the misinformed buyer probably thought it was a fake because they got it so cheap..........

I thought, in similar way: what a bargain! A P61 broad...in fact, an English P61! What Kenneth Parker wanted in the original 51: "deliciously beautiful".
