Mmm I had some from my company, and Southworth's 100% cotton.. hmm, thats about it (the ones I actually use).

Im curious if theres any manufacturer that could make personalized watermarks for a "cheap" price.

They are called watermarks because they are made into the paper while still on the 'wire' and mostly water. Back in the day I was a QC inspector in a paper-mill.

We made a watermarked paper for a customer. It was 144 inches wide on the machine and we would usually run several box cars full at a time.

Watermarked, custom, and cheep do not mix well in the same sentence.

Very nice watermark! Is it vintage or new paper?

Besides a nice watermark this old paper that I found has a wonderful cloth-like feel and takes fountain pen & dip pen like a dream.

In my pre-kid life, I used to make handmade paper. I had my own custom raccoon watermarks with the year (year was changed, well, yearly). These are a couple of my paper moulds with the watermark wire sewn on the moulds. Alas, my paper was a bit too textured for fountain pens. But it was fun designing my own watermark.

This may be slightly off topic.

I made of artists making watermarks in hand made paper. It was a one day workshop.

They had a great idea in that video, by putting the watermark on a second screen. I hand-sewed mine on with fine fishing line... major pain and very tedious! Every time I changed the date on mine I'd grumble about that. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the comment. While it takes longer to sew it on the screen, using a second screen like they did, slows down the sheet forming process. It is one or the other, ha.

These are some line watermarked envelopes I picked up in the Paper and Watermark Museum in Fabriano, Italy. They are on 100% cotton handmade paper (I watched them make the paper as part of the museum tour). They have far more impressive "shaded" watermarks, but they were a bit pricy.post-97935-0-03484500-1409522145_thumb.jpgpost-97935-0-14429100-1409522155_thumb.jpgpost-97935-0-58883400-1409522161_thumb.jpgpost-97935-0-30935600-1409522191_thumb.jpg
