Vintage Montblanc Nibs

I have sourced a major lot of Montblanc nibs dating from the 1940s, all of which are new old stock and in fine order.

All nibs sport a medium point, some with the responsiveness that is the very hallmark of vintage Montblanc nibs, while some are a little bit firmer.

These will make for excellent replacement nibs or for fitting to all but the very largest of vintage pens. The nibs measure 2,8 cms in length so on the large-ish side!

My price is only 19 Euros per nib plus shipping for a firm nib and 25 Euros plus shipping for a more responsive nib. (Or five for 90 Euros) Quite a bargain really!

I've refreshed this ad to shift the remaining stock as only about a third remain. Get some while you can as once they're gone, they're gone!

Cheers

It would be helpful to identify at least a couple of the vintage pens these would fit into - e.g., Senior Duofold, Sheaffer oversize, Waterman 55, etc. Any chance you could help there?

The nibs fit perfectly a Montblanc 144 or Parker Duofold in standard size. Not quite big enough for fitting to oversize pens.

Some of these nibs are a bit odd - I see a couple where the cut doesn't go all the way to the breather hole and another where it goes past it. Also, I see at least one where one tine is wider than the other.

are they all gold? What does the 4 1/2 engraving mean?

The imprint is a model number. The nibs have come from model 244 1/2 pens from the 1940s. The middle 4 stands for medium sized. They appear to be made from sprung steel.

I go along with smk's question about the slits on some of these nibs.Is it simply "pass the baton" with these babies or is Mr.Goldfink picking the healthiest ones for sale?Would be fair to mention this, what ever the policy is.

I have no interest in holding onto any of the nibs, they are all for sale. I think that there are only a few with slightly over or under extended slits and I don't think that I have sold any to date - they don't affect function in any way but if a buyer doesn't want one they are free to specify this.
