Nice colors and very helpful job, Dizzypen. The well-named Syrah is a wonderful color, there's a long time I'm looking for a nice burgundy.

How does Oxblood compare to Monaco red ?

Thank you so much for posting this! I will be ordering Oxblood and Evergreen for sure. I like the looks of Asa blue, but I'm still undecided on that one.

I've done a water-resistence test with Asa Blue and Twilight Blue:

Twilight blue has no water resistence at all. It disappears very easily at the smallest drop of water.

Asa blue is much better, even if rinsed or soaked for some minutes, it is still legible. Obviously, no comparison with Noodler's or stuff like that, but it means that if you drop some water you wan't see your script disappear immediately like with Twilight blue.

However, once again I've noticed a remarkable difference on the basis of the paper: water resistence is much stronger with sketch paper, thicker and (probably) acid free.

Does anyone know why inks are more resistent on some particular papers? I don't know anything about chemistry unfortunately ... :(

Hi,

I posted Reviews of the ASA & Twilight.

My mileage varies. I consider them to be fairly water resistant: the text is readable after a soapy soak and a plain water 'splatter'.

And I agree with your observation about water resistance varying on different papers. Part chemistry, part physics I reckon.

I just received the Oxblood and Evergreen, and my pens have never been happier. I'm looking more at Evergreen to start. Beautiful, deep green with remarkable shading for an ink this dark! Tried on simple Mead filler paper and no feathering or bleed at all, though it does seem to dry pretty slow. Water resistance is as you'd expect: not much, though it doesn't completely fade under running water. The scan in this thread is pretty accurate, though it's a hard color to scan. I tried a few times and never got as close as the above. A definite keeper, and may well become my primary green, if not my go-to color entirely. It's dark enough to be professional, and yet just green enough to thumb its nose at the Black/Blue rules.

The Red Dragon, Syrah, and Asa Blue are all MINE!!! I must get those inks drool.gif They are absolutely gorgeous and vibrant!

That Asa Blue looks JUST like Iroshizuku Kon-Peki to my eyes. Anybody wanna do a comparison (I don't have both)?

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

I'll be posting a comparison of the two on Friday (I think).

Yes, they are very close indeed!

Sweeeeet! I'll be looking forward to it greatly! A friend gave me a small sample of Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. It's such a nice vibrant and true blue. The problem is it costs a fortune (why did they have to raise the price gaah.gif )... Anyhow if this is close enough I might suggest it to that friend of mine. He loves the Kon-Peki but it's still so expensive. Hopefully this could become a good alternative...

Oh really? They are close huh? Hmm, that interests because kon-peki is my favorite blue.

That Asa Blue is captivating! Now, I'll have to get some!
