Here's a scan of 7 of the New Diamine colors:

In this scan

Red Dragon: Appears brighter in this scan than in person

Oxblood: true to color

Syrah: true to color

Evergreen: a little too yellow here, but very close to true

Green/Black: a little too much blue

Asa Blue: true to color

Twilight: true to color

(Click to enlarge and sharpen the photo, but be forewarned, the image is huge)

Asa Blue looks really nice!!!! So does Oxblood!!!

Oxblood is nice - it's the only one of the new Diamine inks I have indulged in so far. Just to add - it flows well too (so far - only one pen inked though).

Somebody wondered if it was going to be like Sailor Red-Brown - I can't comment specifically on the comparison as I have never tried Red-Brown but the description of "red-brown" is very apt.

Syrah looks nice - I wonder what it is like next to R&K Alt Bordeaux?

Thanks for this Dizzypen.

Hi!

Do you know anything about water resistence of these inks? :)

Thanks

Hmm, I wonder what Syrah looks like when compared to PR Arabian Rose?

Buy me a bottle and I'll let you know (and against Alt Bordeaux). B)

Quick check with Oxblood - depends on how you define water resistance - quick splash under the tap - still readable but with every passing second gets paler and paler.

I usually consider sufficiently water resistant an ink that is still rather legible (even if faded) after 5 minutes of soaking :)

I haven't tried that yet but I very much doubt it.

Thanks for the scans! Oxblood looks like a lighter, slightly redder version of Rustic Brown from this scan. I'm really liking the Evergreen and Green/Black. I like MBRG but always thought that I'd like it better if it were just a tad lighter. This may be my answer. Now, of course, to choose...

Thanks for the scans! Dizzypen, you recently reviewed Noodler's Blue. Asa blue looks very similar. How do the colors compare?

They are similar, but Syrah is not dusky like Arabian Rose is. Syrah is also darker.

I haven't tested for water resistance yet. I'll let you know when I get a chance to do the tests.

I'd say you described Oxblood very well. It is definitely a red brown and is definitely lighter than Rustic brown.

Evergreen and Green/Black would make good substitutes for MBRG. Green/Black is closest as it has that antique green sort of feel to it. Evergreen is the darker of the two.

Asa Blue is very similar to Noodler's Eel Blue. Asa Blue is brighter and more turquoise.

Thank you for a look at some new colors. I really like that Green Black. Very much green while being black enough to be appropriate for business signatures.

On my computer that Asa Blue resembles, the much discussed, Noodler's Baystate Blue. It appears to be quite vivid.

Great scans! Syrah and Twilight look just like the ones I have. I'll definitely be getting Dragon Red and Oxblood in the near future.

Oooh! I'm so excited! I didn't realise new colours were available.

Am I correct in thinking that the Evergreen is very similar to PR's Avacado and Salior's LE ink of the same name (Evergreen, that is) The Asa blue also looks very similar to Iroshizuku Kon Peki, and I've been waiting for them to bring out a good solid burgundy for ages...

Good old Diamine!

Hi! I couldn't resist and I've just bought a bottle of Asa blue, one of Twilight blue and one of Evergreen ...

I'll check their water-resistence as soon as I'll receive them! :)

I'll let you know!

Ps: I've noticed that diamine inks tend to perform VERY differently on different papers: Diamine's Royal blue was still perfectly legible after a whole night of soaking, when I tried with Ryman's sketch pad paper... the very same ink was almost completely disappeared after 5 minutes of soaking when I tried with Ryman's Premium plain paper! :o

I wonder what determines this huge difference .... :hmm1:
