This review along with all my others can be found at The Dizzy Pen.

For some reason my original post was moved to the comparisons section even though it is more a review, so I'm splitting the two up so that the reviews will be indexed in the review section.

Here is the review card for Noodler's Saguaro Wine (Click to enlarge the photo)

I think Noodler's Saguaro Wine is a nice alternative to Iroshizuku Yama Budo if you can't afford or don't want to pay the $35 MSRP ($28 at JetPens). If you'd like to view the comparison post please click here: Iroshizuku Yama Budo vs. Noodler's Saguaro Wine

I'm going to get some of this ink eventually! Love the color! Could you please post a picture of your TWSBI with this ink in it! I'll bet they look GOOD together cloud9.gif

Need a pen repaired or a nib re-ground? I'd love to help you out.

Today I got a bottle of Noodler's Cactus Fruit, which is one of the "American Eel" lubricated inks. I think it's very close to Saguaro Wine, and what a fabulous color it is! I loved it immediately.

I found PR Plum to be a pretty close match as well.

*sigh* Don't you just hate it when people don't read before they post?

Let me just quote the disclaimer here:

disclaimer: The goal of these reviews is to find inks that are similar in color and behavior to the Iroshizuku line but at a lower price point. This should not be construed as an attempt to find exact replicas. That is not possible. The Iroshizuku inks succeed at being unique. The only way you can get an exact match is to save up for the Iroshizuku. Whether or not these suggestions work for you is entirely up to you.

How about this: they are alternatives, not substitutes?

That's exactly what I called it: an alternative.

Oh sorry, it seems my tone in that post doesn't seem so friendly. I was just attempting to paraphrase your disclaimer into a single sentence. I had a thought about two days ago after looking at this review; I was thinking about how whenever people ask for look-alikes of iroshi's, people usually say the same sort of thing as in your disclaimer, and then I thought up a simple paraphrase for what most people disclaim, the similar inks are `alternatives, not substitutes`. Then yesterday I thought I'd post it. Ah, the random things that pop into one's head when it's late at night and past my bedtime ... maybe that's why some of us here have pen dreams and ink dreams.
