What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

Recommended Posts

Hero red. The bottle arrived today, and had leaked a bit in shipping. I don't have any empty pens at the moment, so this one will wait ... just a little. So will the blue-black.

Does no one wear gloves when they do things with filled pens, or does that make me some kind of heretic?

No, it just makes you smart. :)

I have gloves, I always intend to use them.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Only when using Bay State Blue, because it's a nightmare to remove.

Following St. Patrick's Day my favorite pen, a green Esterbrook J, is filled with a favorite ink, Diamine Sherwood Green. I will continue using green ink as I encourage Spring to arrive. The landscape is still very gray and dreary in north-central Kentucky.

I use finger cots (aka finger condoms - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finger_cot). People do give me odd looks though.

Today I got some Private Reserve Ebony Blue on my thumb. I really need to remember to wear gloves next time.

You know what? Today they are skin coloured!

All pens behaving well, none have run out and no mixing planned for the foreseeable future.

Nice. :P

Green, bright green. I filled my green Platinum Plaisir with MB Irish Green and it ended up all over my fingers. Interesting look with the remnants of PR Orange Crush from yesterday.

I'm a sign language interpreter, so my hands are always on display. Can't afford to have them all inked up and unlovely. I always keep disposable plastic gloves on hand for the dirty jobs.

Diamine Majestic Blue, it seems to like my skin and is proving difficult to evict.

Sailor Yama-Dori.
I got a little too excited when my inks arrived in the mail yesterday, and spilled a bit all over my left hand.

Yard-O-Led Blue Black (which I understand is made by Diamine and is likely to be the same ink as Diamine Blue Black R2).

I had to dump the converter contents and flush my new Yard-O-Led pen earlier so that I could return it to the retailer for a drying up issue to be sorted. It looks like a nib / feed alignment issue, but the retailer understandably wanted this expensive one day old pen back for attention rather than agreeing to me removing and reseating the nib and feed in the section. He suspects Yard-O-Led will send him a replacement nib / feed / section assembly.

I thought I'd been careful during the ink dump, but somehow I got ink over my left hand. All the rest of the ink successfully went down the drain, so it must have been the magnetic attraction of ink to hands in action yet again!
