This afternoon I see Private reserve Dakota Red (my favourite red) and Private Reserve DC Electric Blue.....And I am looking for a good Burgundy (who isn't and not to drink, this time, but to write with) any suggestions?

If, at the end of a pen tuning day, I can get my fingers BACK to that state of inkiness , I am thrilled!cloud9.gif

Some J. Herbin Vert Empire the leaked from a Hero 329, and some Private Reserve Midnight Blues (from refilling said Hero 329).

I have discovered that the section/hood unscrews from the 329...hence the Vert Empire.

I left my silicone grease at home and that explains the traces of PR Midnight Blues from the same pen...

  • 2 weeks later...

I had to journal what the doctors were doing and I wanted to use my new Sheaffer before sending it to Richard Binder for repair, and in the process of cleaning the nib off I got some beautiful red-black mixture (a personal blend until I get some of the Noodler's in).

Then this morning I had several fingers completely coated in Diamine Teal - it took a minute to figure out how that happened. Apparently while talking to the stroke nurse I managed to unscrew the barrel on the Platinum Preppy (converte to an eye drop filler). Thank the gods for ink nix.

Very dark brown from the tannins in the Cynthiana grapes I'm crushing by hand. I think my Xmas list is going to start with "grape crusher/destemmer"/

I had something similar happen in my kitchen -- the ink thankfully only hit the counter, and after cleaning mostly blends in (came out of a 1944 Waterman Ideal with a flexible nib, very wet). Same ink now that I think about it thumbup.gif.

It's mostly worn off from yesterday, but I still have some Private Reserve Spearmint green on my left hand. Brand new bottle and I'm very pleased with the color.

A very light shade of purple from testing out a sample of J. Herbin Poussiere de Lune, of which I'll be purchasing when the Labour Day holidays are over. thumbup.gif

That reminds me of my first FP mishap. I lent my fountain pen to a friend in a study group. We were brainstorming a project, and he was talking along, gesticulating with his hands, and he suddenly had a mental block. He struggled to come up with the right phrase, and smacked his forehead in frustration.

I mentioned the pen cap was off, right?

Skrip Jet Black dripped from his forehead as he fixed his eyes on me. "Do you have a ballpoint pen I can borrow?" he asked in icy tones.

I think I can safely assume he's not a member of this forum.

(P.S. - I suggest "Reginald" for a fruit fly. If it's a mosquito, try "George"..."Edward" is just too darn predictable.)
