J. Herbin Vert Empire. I just got a bottle of MB racing green in the post today, but haven't opened it. Maybe I will wait until I get the new 149 with O3B nib.

Iroshihzuku Asa-Gao. Apparently my Konrad doesn't particularly like *that* ink either.... :headsmack:

Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses -- doesn't come off easily either

But I really love this color -- the swatches in the catalogs do not do it justice -- totally different

when it is pen on paper.

I agree -- and the Konrad sort of behaved when I had BSiAR in it. Unfortunately, I only had a sample. But it's definitely a keeper ink, because the color (even without flexing) is gorgeous! When not being flexed, the Konrad nib was putting down a relatively fine line (somewhere between F and EF, IMO), and BSiAR is a lovely dark red violet.

Diamine Oxblood today. I actually love getting this particular color on my fingers because when my 2-year old sees it, he sticks out his bottom lip for me and says "Ouch" in the saddest, cutest and most empathetic voice. :roflmho:

Diamine Ochre between two fingers when I was swabbing for review. The yellow washed away leaving some VERY persistent magenta which is taunting me.

J. Herbin Gris Nuage - the first ink in my new baby - Waterman Carene. :cloud9: Managed to get it all over my hands.

The pen writes better if you make a mess, right? RIGHT?

What is it with newly acquired pens and messy fingers? My fingers are Montblanc Black from playing with my MB 244G pen. A wonderful little writer from the late 50s, extra-fine nib with flex. Ink on my left hand only, which I use to hold the cap.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who experiences the new pen messiness. I swear the new pens make a mess on purpose so you'll remember that you have them when you see the latest stain...

Diamine Marine. My Platinum Preppy leaked all over my hand. I think it's part of the new pen messiness that was mentioned above.

Baystate Blue. Now, where did I put those bleach wipes?

Im a bit confused

What is it with about haveing ink on your fingers is so cool.

I write with a fountain pen everyday

fill them when needed and at times get a small bit of ink somewhere its not supposed to be my fingers included.

never very much and really not very often.

but when it happens I wash it off instantly with a bleach wipe

, or a brillo pad if need be.

My fingers never show any signs that I write with a fountain pen.

If they did and I was in public I would be embarrased.

Maybe im weird but even though I love my pens and the exp. of writting with them running around with inky fingers is not a badge of honour IMHO but an embarasment.

Artist and the like who are using pens and inks for artistic and commercial purposes are exempt from this rant

sorry just had to get it out this thread come up every so often and it just irks me everytime

Waterman Florida blue and purple. Yes, you guessed it - making Binder Blurple - or home made Tanzanite. Which ever you choose to call it.

All I want is 1 more pen, and 1 more bottle of ink, and maybe 1 more pad of paper. Well, at least until tomorrow. Oh yeah, and throw in that bottle of single malt. Is that asking for too much?

thanks Chris.

Noodler's Liberty's Elysium today. It doesn't wash off of skin as easily as Noodler's Black but I'm really liking it so far.
