A smear of Noodler's Dark Matter on my left thumb and forefinger. I thought I had enough paper towel between me and a nib fresh from filling. Wrong again!

Although Diamine Syrah has been in my pen for several weeks now, I end up with blue fingers. I guess some Private Reserve American Blue must have splashed into the cap quite a while ago and it's slowly working its way out as I write with my pen and fiddle with the cap.

Edited to add: Syrah is a dark, wine-red ink.

My fingers are splodged with Bay State Blue!

I have a baby grandson, now 1 day old! I felt that, should the baby be a boy, the birth announcement cards should be written in a really blue BLUE blue. So many thanks to the very kind Ink Swap Donor who has made this possible, also to the generous gentleman who contributed some Diamine Amaranthe in case of a baby girl... I'm hoarding it in my rudimentary ink shrine for another time!

He really is a dear little baby. I think forwards to the day when I shall sit with him emphasising the importance of good handwriting. :cloud9:

Congratulations on the birth of your grandson! May God bless you, your grandson and your family.

Nice choice of color, BTW. I believe I will ink a pen with BSB today. Needless to say, I will get some on my fingers one way or another.

JLT - thank you! How very kind of you!

The BSB is fantastically brilliant blue and I love it. I have a bottle of Diamine Umber now and have been trying it out. I wanted a real ivy green to write Christmas cards, and I like this very much! It also scrubbed off my fingers better than the BSB, but I can't say I wasn't warned!

Hello Inkophiles

This is my first post in this forum (Inky Thoughts). When I opened up the page to tell you all waht colour my fingers were today, the first thing that caught my eye was the bold red warning to read the forum rules before any post. Being a very feeble hearted person and not wanting to start any controversy I naturally read te page referred, and the jist that I understood out of the whole page was:

  1. THE BOSS (MODERATOR) IS ALWAYS RIGHT
  2. IF IN DOUBT SEE RULE NO 1

HA! HA! HA! Just joking.

Seriously now and to the topic of this blog:

My fingers are Turquoise with Pelikan 4001, trying to adjust the scanty flow in my Dani Trio Cumlaude, for which I had arranged a new Broad nib and was using it for the first time with the new nib. The stains are particularly prominant on the left fingers the one I held the nib assembly with while holding the pen in my right - I am right handed but somehow I adjust the nibs that way.

I am in Pakistan, and only few ink brands are available in my city, and only Pelikan in all colour ranges. recently Skrip has become available but I have not tried it yet (only in Blue and Black). Quink also is available in blue and black only. Montblanc has more choices available but much more expensive than either of the above (about 3 -4 times).

Enjoy your pens

Have a nice day

Junaid

Baystate Blue again. I'm running out of bleach to get it off my fingers, so I'm swapping it out for Pilot's Blue next fill. Oh, also stained less permanently with my new favorite, Black Swan in Australian Roses.

Fading spot of Noodler's Navajo Turquoise on my left thumb. It will soon have company...I have a good number to flush/fill tonight!

Had an ink changing spree and somehow only got one color per finger - an Asa Blue thumb, Sheaffer Purple pinky, Salix index, Saddle Brown other index, BSER middle etc. Looks kinda cool.

PR Chocolat all over both hands! I've been trying to get a stubborn pen to work properly. It worked, it just looks like I have some crazy age-spots now ;)

I sucked some MB Winter Forest out of one twist out nibbed pen with a needle and it was not enough to add to an ink well.

I tried to drop at a time suck the little remnant into a piston pen. I needed three hands and was born with but two.

Of course after making a mess, I find out yep...a Reform 1745 has a twist out nib. :headsmack:

I really like that Winter Forest in OF 'flexi', and surprising in regular flex F. It is so wet it makes my only XXF nib write well and with a tad of ham fistedness, I get some shading.

My semi-flex F was too wet. Semi-flex M was nice as was regular flex M, but best was regular flex F and 'flexi' OF.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.
