Aargh, Pinkly again! Decided to fill a cart and, since it was right there, test the matching True Writer. I carefully wiped the bottle and pen with a slightly damp paper towel to make sure I'd gotten everything in the initial clean-up and all was good but opening the bottle revealed dry, crusted ink on the threads and in the cap that got me again.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

White, I've been spray painting a radiator.

Ah now, that's just cheating.

Threads got me too: the threads on an eyedroppered pen that weren't as tightly screwed or well-greased as I thought. So today's flavour is Pure Pens Cadwaladr.

Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black.

After a pefectly clean fill, I dropped the bottle cap.

Managed to catch it (a fluke) and inserted my index finger into the inky part, as I did so.

So, clean pen, no spills and a black tipped finger.

Could be worse.

Yesterday I was using the Poseidon Pearl Konrad, currently inked up with the dark purple version of Noodler's American Aristocracy. And I've had a big splotch pf American Aristocracy on my thumb since yesterday. Even after washing my hair this afternoon. It's not as, well, dark and solid as yesterday (or even this morning), but it's still there....

J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir.

I ordered the 100ml of the stuff online and it arrived in a box without any protective wrapping at all whatsoever. Just a plastic bottle of ink rattling around a large box. It had also sprung a leak in transit that I didn't realize until too late... as in after I set the box on my bed temporarily and the ink pooled all over my blanket. Spent over an hour cursing and scrubbing madly with water and alcohol. Thank goodness, this ink is super washable! But now I have blue stained fingers and hands and I am too tired to do scrub any more. Can you imagine if I had ordered a bottle of waterproof ink...?!

Yikes! I've considered ordering that size bottle of Eclat de Saphir, because it works so well in my Parker 61s. Of course, those capillary fillers hold a HUGE amount of ink, so it would take me forever to go through that much ink (even if that was the only bottle I had -- which is of course not in any way, shape, or form, close to reality...).

I'd be complaining to the vendor about that poor packaging. Because it means you've spent money on 100 ml of ink and gotten (at best) a partial bottle....

This morning it was a LOT more American Aristocracy. The Konrad was in was down in the bottlom of my purse yesterday, plus the pressure and temperatures were fluctuating a lot. So there was a fair amount of burping into the cap, and then I posted the pen.... You can geuss there rest.....

Teal, from Ferris Wheel Press Bluegrass Velvet, because I'm doing comparative testing of different nibs and that means unscrewing interchangeable nib units, as well as making adjustments to tines where the need is indicated.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. Today, nothing (so far). But last night, my hand was COVERED with Noodler's El Lawrence, after refilling the ebonite Konrad), trying to wipe all the excess off the nib and threading on the section.

A little 1864 BB on my index finger from refilling a cartridge, did better with the Yomogi while filling the M300, no stains from it.

Sailor Doyou dark brown, all over my white tablecloth.

"Why were you checking an ink cartridge at the kitchen table?", you might ask. And, you might wonder why the motion of the shot ball in the cartridge was so mesmerizing.
