What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

Looks like I only missed the pinky of my left hand. All the others have Sailor Kingdom Note Trypoxylus dichotomus from their Insect series. I can only imagine that I must have slightly shaken the bottle when removing the cap...

Diamine Dark Forest on my left palm and the finger-tip and 2nd knuckle of the 3rd finger on my right. Not sure how it got there. First thought, of course, is that the M150 maybe leaked into the cap but wiping the pen with a dry paper towel, then with a damp one, it's clean as a whistle. Must have laid the knuckle on a fresh line, then swiped that on the palm.

For me, it's some (partially oxidized in the bottle :() KWZI IG Mandarin. I have it in a lever fill Wearever with a stub nib at the moment, and the pen seems to want to burp and have heavy flow at times.... As a result, I was getting blobs of ink on the page every now and then, and those blobs were taking an extremely long time to dry....

A tasteful blend of Monteverde Horizon Blue and semi-vintage Parker Quink Permanent Blue with Solv-X.

Apparently the feed in my Wing Sung 698 doesn't like the former, but seems to be coping with the latter.

Diamine Blue Velvet and also Majestic Blue: On several fingers of both hands & it is surprisingly reluctant to wash off despite scrubbing vigorously with a nail brush.

I was diluting some Diamine Majestic Blue & got the neat stuff on my fingers from the cap. I like ink to be only on a sheet of paper.

J. Herbin Violette Pensee, because I can never fill a TWSBI sensibly.

It was a TWSBI knock off I was trying to refill, when the ink ran over my fingers.

I was trying to eliminate air and actually fill all the reservoir.

I am just glad that it was Blue Velvet dye ink instead of a ferro-gall ink like Registrar's.

I cleaned and refilled a number of pens today (huzzah for a snow day from work!), so, in various patches, I've got Levenger Gemstone Green, J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor, Diamine Twilight, Pilot Blue-black, and Lamy Pacific Blue.

Sailor Kiwa-guro from a Sheaffer 444 and Sailor Shigure from a Lamy 2000. Both of these were cleaning incidents. I have to have a pen with black in it for work and Sheaffer seemed put out by having to be the sacrificial pen even though kiwa-guro is very nice ink. It will get something lovely and colorful next time around to make up for it. The Shigure in the Lamy made it in under the radar of my boss's aversion to "weird" colors, so that was good.

Miraculously, I managed to ink my Ranga 4c with Sailor Rikyu-cha without getting it everywhere. This pen is a home pen, because Rikyu-cha would definitely qualify as a "weird" color.

Yet another Sarah.

Needed to fill a pen with blue ink as the current one is running low, and the other pens have brown ink in them. So I picked Noodler's Northstar Liberator, a nice soft blue. Filling from a tall vial however is always tricky, and several fingers got tagged. But by then end of the work day, they were all cleaned up.

Earlier today it was diluted KWZI IG Turquoise. I was trying to get the pen it was in (a Parker Vector with what I think is an IF nib) started after a couple of days of non-use.

Amberlea suggested I should post this here. This is what happens when you decide to fill a piston-filler (Pelikan Piccadilly Circus) with Wancher Blue ink in a tall sample vial.

Good thing I bought some Ink Zap from Anderson Pens last November at the Ohio Pen Show (no affiliation to any of these products, BTW).

I've had Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz in my nailbed for two days.

I'll come up with something eventually.

Yesterday it was Noodler's Luck of the Draw LE (2018 Baltimore/Washington Pen Show exclusive). A LOT of it.... :o And liberal application of Ink Nix got rid of, um, most of it (there's still a tiny bit above the pen-related callus on the side of my right middle finger...).

You know, it's really hard to judge how much ink is going into the barrel of a Noodler's Boston Safety pen. MUCH harder than Nathan Tardif makes it look like it being in the videos.... And way,WAY harder than it is to fill a Noodler's Charlie. Because, well, black ebonite is NOT transparent, the way the Charlie barrels are....

On the plus side, the lines of Kon-peki on my left index finger (from trying to get the Pilot Decimo to write) seem to have finally washed off....

A diluted spot of KWZ Green #3 from flushing the M150 I'd loaded it into just yesterday. Glad I only got a sample.

The fingers of my right hand are the color of Swishmix Glacier Blue ink, a proprietary ink made by Noodler's inks for a pen and ink company that no longer exists.

Yeah, I had a syringe get a little worn out as I was refilling a cartridge. Another washing of two and the Glacier Blue ink will come off my fingers, I'm sure.

I had to U/L the indelible ink image again. I'm wondering if some of my attachments have disappeared. This post was edited to get the image up here.
