I have been wondering why, all afternoon, I have been putting a pen down to find that my index, middle finger and thumb have all had beautiful, deep, intense blue stains from Parker Penman Sapphire.

It seems that my Jinhao 159 has developed a leak in the section, just where the little chrome ring is at the end of the section.

Oh, well, I was looking for an excuse to buy this --

I had a rather messy syringe/cartridge fill this morning with Pilot Asa-Gao, so that is what I am wearing on my first finger and thumb today until I shower.

Over the last few days, some Inspired Blue from filling a cartridge, then a big spot of Skrip Turquoise on my middle finger, somehow just in using the pen, then Kana-cho Midnight from refilling 2 pens (also brushed my shirt cuff against the rim of the bottle), then Tsuki-yo this morning.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Where's the fun in that?!

What's people going to think of you if you don't show off your fingers patina?

Where's the character gone?!

Precisely.

It's like being a bikie, with stick-on tatts...

Sailor Jentle Okuyama. I was flailing the pen around with the nib on my fingers. I had a shower, but I guess Okuyama loves my fingers more than the sink...

I must be quite old or at least a 'tad' boring... Maybe I haven't read enough Australian authors (Any suggestions?!).

I confess I had to search both terms, bikie and tatts.

Noodler's Ottoman Rose is all over my right-hand fingertips after a rather embarrassing moment with a TINY (2mL) sample vial where I forgot you have to get the air out of a lever/vac pen before putting it in the ink... The actual vial didn't spill all that much but wow, is that ever a vivid colour.

Literally, the Colours of Australia, by Blackstone.

I bought a set of 50ml pouches, and got around to decanting them. I was very neat, did it over the kitchen sink. Didn't spill a drop, but .... opening the little lids and pouring the ink into the bottles, I managed to get six separate blobs of ink on thumb, forefinger and middle finger. After many hand washes and shampooing my hair (normally the most reliable way to get ink off fingers) I still have some Daintree Green under my fingernails and the remains of Black Stump Black on my left finger.

Sailor Jentle Oku Yama. Trying to fill a Pelikan M1000. The Sailor bottle insert is not deep enough for the M1000 nib. Oh well! Nice effect on my palm, looks like I tried to lift a burning coal.

Robert Oster Fire & Ice and Lamy Dark Lilac. I had to add silicone grease to a section that was getting ink creep and refill another pen, so my fingers and a spot on the counter are colorful.

I'll come up with something eventually.

But it is a lovely purple even sans sheen.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Well, the Colours of Australia inks are really finger-lovin' inks. I decanted my inks on Sunday, it's now Wednesday, and I still have a bit of Black Stump Black and Daintree Green showing on my fingers.

I'm fairly sure that when the stains were fresh that there may even have been a bit of sheen there. Barrier Reef Blue, I'm looking at you.
