What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

Today there's a bit of Diamine Kensington Blue, from refilling a Parker Vector. There's probably one more fill's worth (or at least a partial one) in the sample vial after this -- *if* I pull the converter and fill it directly.

Also, a tiny bit of Robert Oster Moss. The good news is that there still seems to be some ink in the pen it's currently in (the gold-fill filigree overlay Morrison ringtop I thought I'd lost, which turned up a couple of weeks later in between my front door and the storm door). The bad news? When I pulled the cap this evening it had crud on the tipping like nobody's business! (People who don't like to see crud with inks like Diamine Antique Copper? This was seriously worse looking... probably an 1/8 of an inch beyond the end of the tines... :o). Harmless, of course, but off-putting, to say the least. Doesn't make me want the ink less though... it's a gorgeous soft green that is only slightly yellow-leaning.

So far, today it's been Diamine Oxford Blue. Much as I like the color, I really should get more of it off my fingers because I have to be working around food most of the afternoon....

Diamine Ruby, even worse than the Yama-dori incident a week ago. :(

@Parker, you are cool! Those are my doodles while I was sitting in a conference. The speakers were Melodee Brooks and Sharon Levine. The entire doodle was done with FPs the background was done with waste ink from cleaning my pens.

Also, a tiny bit of Robert Oster Moss.

I'm really pleased with the Robert Oster Purple Rock I picked up at the Ohio Pen Show; I didn't see Moss, I assume it's a sort of green-black?

I don't think I ever heard of Robert Oster inks before the pen show, for that matter. I assume that either they're new, or I'm just not paying attention. :D

No, it's more like a soft medium green (very slightly yellow leaning but only slightly). A very nice color, but nobody seemed to have it in stock at OPS or I would have picked up a full bottle in a flash.

The inks are relatively new and IIRC come out of Australia. There are some really nice colors in some of the reviews I've seen on FPN -- the Moss was an "absolutely must have" for me, but some of the blues and purples are also really nice. I have a samples of Purple Rock, Summer Storm, Australian Sky, Blue Night and Tranquility as well, but haven't had a chance to try any of them yet.

Yeah, settling on just the Purple Rock was difficult. The only thing I might wish is that they came in nicer bottles, but that would probably raise the price. And it gives me an excuse to prowl the Bay of E for another inkwell. :)

I got four new pens, so...

  • Delta Blue
  • Pelikan 4001 blue-black
  • Pelikan 4001 dark green
  • Standardgraph violet

At least all of those wash off fairly easily...

Just now got a little Inspired Blue on them. Pulled the cart out to replace it and some ink bubbled out and ran down the side and the inside of the section, must've squeezed it too hard.

Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel -- received a bottle in the mail that had leaked during transit. So my hands are pretty festively colored today!

Well, darn, but 'tis a cheerful ink.
