What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

Today I have Diamine Matador all over my fingers - a slight mishap while inking my new TWSBI Eco Clear during my lunch break when I raced home to get it out of the mail box.

Parker Quink Permanent Blue, and it is quite permanent when it gets on your skin. I was testing my new Ranga Bamboo, setting and re-setting feed, testing various nibs, so the fingers got pretty (and) blue.

Some unknown blue and purple, some J. Herbin Lie de The and maybe a spot of Waterman Brun Absolu. Cleaning and inking my friend's pens (bought used and stained).

For me it's a bit of Waterman Mysterious Blue, while refilling the Red Shadow Wave Vac. Thought I was being careful; not sure how some ended up on the bottom joint crease on my right thumb (where the thumb meets the hand) unless it was from the bottle cap.

Today, just a spot of Yama-guri from refilling my Cadet - went through the paper towel and onto my finger when I was blotting the excess from the feed.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

An unknown black, from flushing the Admiral Touchdown that arrived yesterday.

Surprisingly, my hands appear to be ink free. However, I was writing some checks to pay bills that needed to go out, and a couple of them ended up with splotches of Bay State Blue on them when the Noodler's Charlie pen decided to burp (and there was a bit of bleedthrough to the next check in the book...).

Been a while for me. No ink on my hands for too long a time. Been writing a lot, but no need to refill any of the pens because I have about 30 laying around the office ready to go. Hopefully I can have a "top-off" party Friday and maybe get some ink on my hands.

Good question - I'd say traces of some sort of IG ink, going by the smell. Also, A LOT of what appears to be Pelikan brilliant red (aka the ink used by every German teacher ever). Bought an entire batch of five vintage pens at a flea market today and am currently cleaning them out.

...

I hate brilliant red. It's the unmistakable color of messed-up essays and exams and also stains a horrible bright pink that takes ages to fade.

Topping off a pen this morning from a sample vial and got Visconti Blue on my finger. I forgot to wipe off the top of the vial before inking the pen, so it is all my fault!

Not stained with a hint of Iroshizuku Take-Sumi :P, although I wouldn't mind if it was. My profession dictates I wash my hands all the time and it's been hardwired into my brain years ago to wash regularly so even if I get stained, it'll be gone in the next half hour.
