Diamine Eau de Nil - my Sheaffer Balance Vigilant has been inked somewhat hastily. Next time, I'll handle it gently and slowly :)

Today, a mixture of Akkerman's Nassaus Blauw; Noodler's Bad Green Gator, and Bad Black Moccasin. We are colourful.

I had a run in today with some Noodler's Ottoman Rose.

Lamy Dark Lilac and vintage Quink Violet.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Three actually: Visconti Black, Noodler's Torquoise Eel and Caran d'Ache Electric Orange.

Disappointed in Visconti Black (dry). I guess it's designed for Visconti's extra wet pens.

Electric Orange is interesting, but undersaturated for me.

Noodler's Torquoise Eel is awesome! Both in terms of color and behavior. I've tried it ones about 6 months ago and remembered that I liked it and went back to what was left in the sample today. I guess I'll be ordering a full bottle of it. My only concern is that I already have too many torquoise inks... I think the closest to it are Edelstein Topaz (drier, less saturated, but better shading) and DeAtramentis Forget-Me-Not (wetter and darker).

Switched nibs in a few pens. All the Ahabs now have Goulet 1.1 mm italics. All the Konrads now have Noodler's EF non-flex nibs. Heat set 'em all. Didn't flush 'em before swapping them. Also just poked around with a couple other pens. I now have 49 pens inked up. Kinda snuck up on me. Might as well go ink-up the 50th.

So ... Diamine Oxblood, Pelikan 4001 Königsblau, Private Reserve Sonic Blue, FPN Galileo Manuscript Brown by Noodler's, Dromgoole's Blue Steel by Noodler's, Noodler's Ottoman Rose, Sheaffer Skrip Emerald Green, and Noodler's Habanero.

Got a tinge of Sheaffer Skrip Green; flushed a recently-emptied cartridge a little too forcefully with a blunt-tipped syringe. Well, I didn't spray it across anything not easily cleaned, at least.

Standardgraph reed green, Pelikan 4001 violet and at least half a dozen blues, blacks and possibly greens that are impossible to identify.

On a completely related note, I resurrected another Frankenpen.

Lamy Blue. I can not fill any pen from this bottle without spilling it on my fingers :-(

Opened my Noodler's Cardinal Darkness Konrad. Almost a capful of Ottoman Rose was waiting on me. I now have thoroughly red fingers.

Lie de Thé, in transferring it from a full converter in an Inflection to an empty standard short cart that went into the Kaweco Sport Cognac that arrived today. Might get Grapefruit on them when I move that to the Inflection. Macassar arrived today as well but that's going straight into a new pen so hopefully no mess involved there.

Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun. I didn't plug the converter gully into the section. I eventually got flow problems. When I removed the barrel to investigate, I got a little surprise.

Maybe you jinxed me. Or maybe I need to tinker with my Noodler's Konrad. But I opened the pen to jot a note, and it gushed a big drop or two right down my fingers and to my palms before I knew it. Blah. Looks like I applied some mercurochrome – which you young folks will probably have to google.

Black, Aurora and Sailor, then out to dinner with friends when I noticed my nails looked as if I had been under my car changing the oil.

Oku-yama. Some staining inside the box, didn't look too bad but when I held the bottle under the faucet to rinse it off, ink just poured off it, all over the sink and my left hand.

On top of that, totally unimpressed with the color. Oh, well. Just hoping Yama-dori will not be similarly disappointing.
