The thumb on my right hand is totaly covered in Kobe #37 Island Blue.

The nib had dried out, so I tried to start it on my thumb. It worked after a while....

My cavalier ink handling methods have finally resulted in inktastrophie. I now have Noodler's North African Violet all over my hands, writing table, and lap (which was covered with my favorite cargo skirt). Because I did not learn my lesson adequately the first time, I put the uncapped sample vial right back on the edge of my slanted drawing table when I resumed writing and knocked it over again - thereby spilling the few drops that were left onto every surface that did not get covered the first time. :/

Okay, good news, NAV is NOT fade resistant or bulletproof.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

That is indeed good news, since I'd already planned to keep wearing this skirt regardless of whether the stain washes out :) I'm just glad that I was not writing in bed, where I have been known to refill directly from the bottle with nary a thought spared for my comforter and sheets.

I may have to mend my ways after this incident.

Alternatively, acquire a white cat. :sm_cat: All spilled ink will then be magically attracted to the cat. :D

Noodler's Raven Black. Testing to see if it has any identifiable UV properties as stated. Initial thoughts? I thought it would be very difficult to make a black ink that also fluoresces. I think that initial thought stands true. I'll see how deeper analysis goes.

Unless you have some vintage Carter's ink....

I don't normally collect ephemera, but I love the artwork in the Carter's ads with the (white) mother cat and her kittens.

Iroshizuku Kon-Peki... Seems like my new-to-me Pelikan M805 has developed a leak between the threads and the binde. :gaah:

Diamine Evergreen from filling a Sailor Clear Candy, red with white trim - this will be my Xmas pen. :)

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

A little Private Reserve Sonic Blue (from the desk pen) and Lamy Turquoise (from the new pocket piece). I use the desk pen on 'official' looking papers because blue-black is a good 'office' color. I use the turquoise most everywhere else because it's just beautiful.

Before I washed my hair, there were little splotches of Waterman Mysterious Blue and Noodler's El Lawrence (from filling a couple of pens this AM), and a bit of Diamine Purple Pazzazz (from trying to get a pen started).

Shortly, there will a lot of other colors (yellow, orange, reds, and greens, mostly) but that will be from food coloring -- I need to make up a gift box of marzipan but am stalling for time...).

Noodler's Berning Red. Doing an ink swap out went well - no ink on my fingers. Went to write with my Diamond 580 and I twisted the piston cap without thinking. I guess I have been using my vacuum-fillers too heavily!

Current Daily Carry: Pilot Custom 743 with 14k Posting nib (Sailor Kiwa-Guro), Sailor 1911L Realo Champagne with 21k Extra Fine nib (Sailor Tokiwa-Matsu). Platinum Century 3776 Bourgogne (Diamine Syrah), Nakaya Portable Writer Midori with 14k Extra Extra Fine nib (Lamy Peridot), Pilot Vanishing Point Stealth Black with Extra Fine nib unit (Pilot Blue Black), a dozen Nockco DotDash index cards of various sizes and a Traveler's Notebook.
