What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

GouletPens

Recommended Posts

Waterman Florida Blue. I will give you the short version. It involved a Pelikan Pura and a Waterman cartridge and it turned ugly. It is a pretty blue colour but I prefer it to be in my pen or on paper. Not on my fingers...

Why do not Waterman cartridges fit Pelikan pens? They are standard.

Actually, the Waterman cartridges very closely resemble the standard international longs, but they are, in fact, proprietary. It's irritating, I know.

They work nicely in my Faber Castell Basic, Inoxcrom and Sheaffer pens. So does Pelikan carts.

I have an old Esterbrook CA 101 for which cartridges are no longer made. With careful "fiddling" I was able to make one of the Waterman cartridges fit. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying that sometimes you can make do, and sometimes you can make a mess. (I know, I've seen me do it often enough! ;) )

When my daughters (twins) returned from Korea, where they had been teaching, they moved into my studio room. My desk is still there. I went to find a missing bottle of ink and was sitting on their bed holding a cheapie bottle of "calligraphy" ink with a wax stopper. Apparently the heat from my hands melted or broke the seal and I got green ink on my hands, their new bed, a new set of sheets and my pants and my behind! It was lovely.

Today I was cleaning old pens and got black, red and blue ink on my hands. So pretty (not). It's all old and nasty so of course, it's stained quite badly. le sigh

A toxic gloopy bitty mix of Noodler's 54th and Scabiosa

What was I thinking?!

Gorgeous colour but in no way usable as an ink. I knocked the vial over, caught it just in time but over reacted and spilt the mix everywhere.

Yuk.

I've now made the mix using 2 parts 54th and one part Poussire de Lune. Ahh, much better . . .

Noodler's La Couler Royal. Happened cleaning my TWSBI 580. I had used it all up, but there is always that little bit of ink in the feed... I don't mind. It's a fantastic color! :)

During the school year, my fingers are usually blue-black from a combination of Noodler's Blue Erase and Black Erase on the markerboard in my classroom.

It's a running joke that I keep catching smurfs in my classroom.

Today it was a bit of KWZI IG Blue Black, some Noodler's Hudson Blue and a little Noodler's Qin Shi Huang, all from from trying to get pens started.

Yesterday it was 54th Massachusetts: for some reason the blind cap on my ebonite Konrad is stuck, and when trying to unscrew it I was finding the entire back end unscrewing instead -- fortunately not to the extent of losing the remaining contents, but the pen has also been behaving like an eyedropper, and since the pen was not completely full it was burping into the cap -- which in turn got 54th MA all over the threads below the section. So instead of refilling the pen like I'd planned it looks as if that's going to be the next pen to get flushed. :(

Right now I'm trying to use up some 'off pink' ink that Amber sent me. Luckily, it was only enough to fill up one old Sheaffer cartridge.

Today, my fingers are ok but my jeans received some drops of Iroshizuku Aji Sai ......

I feel your pain. I need to get some dark blue cargo pants, 'cause I've now dripped blue ink onto two pairs of khaki-colored ones.

Today I was a klutz with Chesterfield Xircon all over my left hand. I was inking my Jinhao Century Blue acrylic. I like the color of Xircon, however, I like it best when it remains in the bottle.
