What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

and then when I washed my hands it started stinging and I realized I actually had actually cut myself with the point of that nib. >.> I'm not sure how much blood and how much ink I saw but now I have a nice band-aid on it. It was a very small cut, but a cut nonetheless.

an FPN interpretation of the phrase 'written in blood'

Did it compare to some of the red ink/blood formulations that have come on the market recently

Monteverde Turquoise, as it keeps bleeding out of the pen. Not sure if it's from the infamous Preppy ED being too low on ink issue, or something else.

Also Noodler's Rome is Burning. I was highly irritated that my Monteverde pen wasn't starting. But, um, that was because the converter had somehow become separated from the nib inside the pen. No leaks though.

After a little mishap filling my Robie House pen, there is now Iroshizuku Kon-peki all over my fingers, hands, shirt, desk, keyboard, speakers, amplifier, mouse, floor, thesis notes, camera...

Whoops.

At least it's pretty!

Waterman Green. It has become my favourite green but for some reason this ink ends up on my fingers more than any other ink.

I was in an orange mood today and loaded Noodler's Apache Sunset and Diamine Orange in pens without getting more than a few tiny stains on my fingers ... and then came Noodler's Cayenne and I did the unthinkable. I knocked the bottle over and got it all over the counter and my hands. It came off the counter but not my hands.

Pelikan Violet

I always get a kick out of these "no affiliation" notations when it's blatantly obvious the poster has absolutely nothing to do with the brand, company, etc. beyond being a customer. It must be a feel-good/feel-important thing. So I'll note up front that nothing I write here on this forum is influenced by any financial-gain motivation.

Noodlers' Bad Belted Kingfisher. My Waterman Expert must have splashed a bit of ink during my travels of the past week.

A very light shading of Waterman Blue, from filling my 51 for the first time last night!

Today while cleaning out a couple of pens for new ink on Friday I got a tiny little speck of Platinum Green, and then Baystate Blue on my hands, in the sink, and it stained the glass I was using to hold the water I was flushing the pen with.

Oops. ;) Guess I'll have to bleach the sink when I get home.

Trying out Private Reserve Avocado.

Sometimes it looks like avocado skin, other times I think it is black. I haven't decided whether I like it or not.

Pilot Black.

My daily carry, which is a fine nib Metropolitan that was inked up with Diamine Woodland Green is out of ink today, and I had to switch to my medium nib version, which has the standard black Pilot cartridge in it. I carry one with cartridge ink because as a student, if somehow both my Metros were out of ink, I could pop a cart in a LOT easier than busting out a bottle of ink in the middle of a lecture. Not to mention, in one of my courses, we have quizzes, and the professor is in her 70s and requests we write in black or blue ink for them to help her aging eyesight as she grades. And Pilot black is a nice deep black, and pretty water resistant, too.

But I'm still totally in love with Woodland Green, so I can't wait to get home and refill my other pen and get that lovely green on my fingers!

It's a potpourri of Diamine Imperial Blue, Platinum Blue-Black, Diamine Orange, and J. Herbin Éclat de Saphir. It's pretty cool.

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.
