What Color Are Your Fingers Today?

Right now they're pretty well clean with some ingrained chain muck from the bike, but yesterday we received a batch of samplers from Diamine, so they were a fetching mix of chain-muck (something like Noodler's Zhivago but not quite bulletproof), Oxblood, Green/Black, Saddle Brown and Skrip Brown, which I tried to salvage from a cartridge before putting the convert in my 444 XG. My hands looked like an accident in an abbatoir.

 

Diamine Green/Black in a Safari with a 1.9i nib is awe-inspiring - just right for penning Kriegsgerichtsurteilen in Fraktur.

Inking pens yesterday so my fingers are Bay State Blue. The other inks wash off.

Today I swapped the 1550 nib on my Esterbrook J for a 1551. While I was at it, I cleanced out the Private Reserve Electric Blue and refilled with PR Copper Burst. The Copper Burst is nice in the copper Estie but my hands are mostly blue...

My bottle of Waterman Purple wouldn't open. I was desperate.

i screwed open my Omas cap this morning and found the nib and grip/neck area covered with ink. so now 3 of my fingers are covered with PR ebony purple that i used to fill the pen with. sigh...

Dragon's Napalm. I always used to think when people complained about Noodler's bottles "oh, they're just not being careful enough." And then I opened my brand new bottle of Dragon's Napalm. Onto my desk. It was only a few drops, but sparkly pink-orange stands out.

Just a little tinge of PR Ebony Green, which (on fingers) is just more of a bright green than ebony green.

I have Noodler's Legal Lapis and some Noodler's Polar Black on a few fingers - other fingers are tinted with Waterman Florida Blue.

Today was a busy day. Finally got HoD to begin my cataloging book, and as such, I have every ink in my possession on my fingers. Dip nibs transfer a surprisingly large amount of ink to your fingers if you're running through tons of samples, it also doesn't help if you forget to wipe the holder down after dipping into a sampler vial (and it rubs against the opening).

 

There's... Antimony, Arsenic, Aluminum, Selenium and Hydrogen.. Ok I kid. But it is a long list, and I feel compelled to write it all out. Another 15 by christmas but those won't be mine (just gonna catalog them...), they're running out as presents to try and lure people to FPs.
