I do realise that!  But for all of $12, what do you want?

The problemis that I don't have the research department or the staff that MT does.  Of course, neither do I have the expenses of certain beverages for lubricating either.

You are right, of course. Steam does seem a little excessive anyway. I could probably put together a workable system with a much lower operating cost - all it would take would be a little hamster food and an occasional cage cleaning.

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Do you seriously think the Laboratory at Murphy Towers has not already looked into this option ?

You can view an early prototype lathe posted on WorldofWoodturners as :-

Lathe

The mice (or hamsters) at the rear chewed the piece as it was being turned by their colleague at the left of the picture.

Never mind cleaning pens, these little #$%£s made the damn things.

Also saved a fortune on coal

  • 2 weeks later...

I've found yet another use for chopsticks. I was filling my Osmiroid 65 yesterday, and I forgot to tighten the nib (just switched the nib). Well, the nib fell into the ink bottle (old Quink Black) So I got a pair of disposable chopsticks and was able to pick it out of the bottle. No ink stain on my finger or no spills :)

One question/comment on chopsticks,

Do you get special bamboo chopsticks from some resteraunts? I had read that most disposable chopsticks were made from Aspen (and primarily old-growth Aspen at that).

John

John,

There are different kinds of disposable chopsticks and I think bamboo ones are a bit more expensive than ones made of aspen (or what ever...cheap ones). More expensive ones are made of thinned out ceder also.
