Brian you and your wife are a fabulous team! Thanks so much for doing all this work. BTW, there's a 'we love green ink' topic running around here somewhere and I'm sure they'd love to see this particular lot of swabs. (adding another ink, or two, to my shopping list)

Great job. The more inks you can get, the better. Iroshizuku, R&K, De Atremis etc haha.

Hopefully one day I'll be able to buy ink from you =).

The swabs are great! The ability to compare so many side by side is priceless!

That's what's so great about these swabs too, you can share them! You can copy the image location into the 'insert image' function on FPN and post whatever swab comparisons you want! So if you want to talk about turquoise inks for example, you can just post a bunch of them for comparison. Just paste the images one right after the other (no spaces or line breaks):

This is fantastic! Thank you :) I've been wondering how Caran d'Ache Amazon compares to Lierre Sauvage.

This is fantastic! Thank you :) I've been wondering how Caran d'Ache Amazon compares to Lierre Sauvage.

Lierre Sauvage is just a little darker. Both inks are fairly wet, but I feel that the J. Herbin has just a little better lubrication. But then Caran d'Ache has those gorgeous inkwells!

This is absolutely wonderful Brian! A lot of work went into coding and putting the page together like this too, great job! It was a terrific idea to include the ivory colored stock also. It sort of makes your ink comparisons unique and more useful. There are only a couple of other comparison pages similar to this out there that I know of and none of them have the ivory colored stock feature. Huge Kudos! Please thank your wife & the photographer for their efforts also! A very useful tool!

Given my experience with other Caran d'Ache inks, that sounds exactly right. I need to re-stock my J. Herbin Lierre Sauvage soon :) Thank you, again!

Thanks for the kind words! All in all, between cutting the cardstock, doing the swabs and writing the names, scanning them, color correcting, and coding the Swab Shop, I would say this project has somewhere around 150 hours into it. It's been a lot of work (but also a lot of fun) but I knew it would become a useful tool for everyone. All I have to do now is get more inks to expand the selection!! I have Noodler's next in my scope  That's another 100+ colors right there! Might be a while before I have those up....

I also did a post on my blog this morning about more of the details of how I did the swabs.

I also plan to add features like selecting 'recommended' groups of swabs, swabs by color, brand, etc. I'll get to all that soon enough.

You are making it so hard to resist the urge to buy more ink!

Regardless, we appreciate all your efforts to make it "effortless"!

I've got my sights set on a large sampler pack coming to a mailbox near me....:puddle:

Thank you SO much. This is really fun. And all the good words here will make me use you as my ink pusher...err..supplier.

And I am really, really looking forward to the Noodler's scans. Woot!!!

I want to put together ink sampler packages too...dark greens, turquoises, reds, yellows, blue-blacks, vintage browns, etc. I'd love feedback on 5-8 ink sampler packs if you have any ideas!
