I love the look of this pen, and I seriously considered getting one, but the top-heaviness from the metal filler knob just didn't work for me at all. Which is a pity, because it's really striking.

Thanks for the great review. But now I am even more anxious, since I've just ordered one from Bryant :puddle:

Awesome. Did you order one with an 18k gold nib or did you opt for one of the 23k palladium nibs?

That is a pity. It is a bit top heavy but this doesn't bother me too much because I hold it quite high up the section (my thumb rests on the threads).

I got the Broad 18k one, I already have a Pd Stub 1.3mm with my Homo Sapiens (and it's a dream to write with !), so I will try the gold one now

The 1.3 nib is amazing, I've had 5 days with mine in my Chatterley Ripple and it is just fine! I also have a broad 14K nib that it is in a different league but it makes me want to write... so I'm guessing this is goooooood :cloud9:

You should do for when you have a chance a review of the HS, you take awesome photos my friend, the HS is a killer pen too!

Can't wait to hear your comparison about them!

This is where everyone should try the shape first... I hold the pens at the top of the grip section so I have no troubles really... but GP seems to hold the pen 1 inch from the plunger/piston cap

I also hear great things about the 14k nibs, that could be my next acquisition :hmm1:

And the review of the HS is actually a good idea ! I think I will do it during the weekend and put my new macro lens to work

After the Montblanc fever, I think I'm really getting hooked to Visconti pens :notworthy1:

Hey Raul, I'm going in the opposite way!! From Visconti to MB... I'm saving for a 149 and Dumas! I have only 3 visconti and they are great!!!!

I suggest if the converter is not a problem to you, to get a Van Gogh for the 14k, they have similar shape to the Meisterstuck IMO and they are great (only Maxi pens!!!), you could try a Renaissance, but they are thin, maybe like a 144 but heavier and they are piston fillers... GREAT pens

I'll do the Ripple and you do the HS and we'll check them during the weekend, what do you think????

Here's a quick preview of the upcoming review of both!!

Filling System 10/10

The pen uses Visconti's double reservoir power filler system. It holds an amazing amount of ink and thanks to the ability to seal ink off from the feed, makes for mess-free air travel (though I'm yet to verify this).

===

I have a Visconti Ti Demosntrator and assure you the double reservoir system works very well for air travel. Just unscrew, tip it nib up to empty ink into the primary (big,. main) reservoir and tighten before flying. The main reservoir is blocked. When you want to write, unscrew the piston, tip down and tap on the barrle to break surface tension, and the secondary reservoir fills. You're then ready to go. Only thinig I find I have to remember is that if I'm writing a lot or on absorbent paper, is to open up the reservoir so the primary reservoir keeps the secondary full.

I have one of these beauties and it really is all that and a bag of chips. I just had my medium stubbed at the Raleigh show and it's the only thing I could have done to make this pen more ideal for my use.

As for cleaning, I've put some seriously saturated inks in mine and they flush cleanly from the highly polished interior of the barrel. However, with this clear demo, I do see that I have some residual coloring on the works. It doesn't bother me, but thought I'd pass along my experience.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.
