I have three Edsons. Actually three fountain pens and a roller ball. My first Edson, a green one from many years ago, leaked like crazy. I sent it for repairs numerous times and it still leaked all over the place, so I finally gave up on it. I like writing with it so much that I bought two more, the Diamond Black with a fine nib and the blue Edson with a medium nib. I am not one to simply collect pens; I like to use them, and I write with the Edsons frequently. They are my favorite fountain pens.

"How do I love thee (Waterman's)? Ah, let me count the ways...". Let's see now: 1. Gentleman FP & MP in maroon (burgundy); 2. Watermina FP & RB in blue & black (very unusual model, I'm told); 3. Gentleman RB in Godron Sterling Silver; 4. LeMan 100 FP in Rhapsody Mineral Blue; 5. LeMan 100 RB in Rhapsody Mineral Green; 6. Charleston FP in "Charleston Green" (my home town in SC); 7. Exclusive FP in marbled green; and finally, my latest Waterman: 8. L'Etalon FP in blue (lovely shade of royal blue). I've sampled all of them, at least dipped, and write weekly with the 'Man 100s and the Charleston. I look forward to making the acquaintance of the L'Etalon. It's heavier than my heretofore favorite pen, S.T. Dupont's Fidelio, and a smidge longer too. The depth of the blue laque really pulls your gaze in... guess I just "lak" lacquer! (That's Charlestonese for "like") :ltcapd:

3 Gentlemen fountain pens. Original 1987 purchase was a new burgandy gentleman fine point, 2nd one was through ebay, a green gentleman medium point in 2008, and most recent a fine point sterling silver barleycorn also from ebay, just a few weeks ago.

I just got one! After using Waterman inks for years I bought a Comet Red Hemisphere - F nib, I know it's a low end model but after years with Parker and Sheaffer I needed a change, it's also the first red pen in my collection

1 x Waterman 100 Year ribbed Senior

1 x #52 1/2 Gothic overlay

1 x First year #7 ripple with Pink nib (Canada)

1 x #52 woodgrain with flexible needle point nib

1 x English keyhole #4 nib (no number)

1 x Looks like a #5 or #94 (see my previous posting)

1 x #14 with flexible nib

I used to have 2 x Pink #7s but couldn't bare to think I'd crack the nib using them so I sold one of them and kept the other and barely use it now :-(

The #14 and #52 woodgrain are great to use for the odd card with some fancy copperplate - my 100 Year (celluloid) is currently getting re-ambered by Eric Wilson. If I was looking for something special I think one of the more decorative overlays would be nice and I'm a little partial to orange so a Cardinal would make a nice addition one day too :-)

Just upped the ante on my pot of Watermans: Added the Gentleman fountain pen in sterling "Godron" pattern to match my rollerball; picked up a maroon L'Etalon fountain pen as a weekly writer and a L'Etalon ballpoint in the lovely dark blue laque to match my blue fountain pen. That makes eleven (11) Watermans so far. I must say that the L'Etalons that I have are wonderful in the hand. The laque is smooth and silky, the gold plate on the clip, cap and trim rings is flawless and the nibs are smooth and wet writers. I haven't tried an Edson yet (which many claim is Waterman's best all around pen) but for my limited experience, the L'Etalon is a sleeping giant. Would love to find a L'Etalon fountain pen in the sterling "Fougere" pattern that I could afford...

Only two so far, both Carenes (one F, one M).

Would love to add a third one though, another Carene in Royal Violet :)

I would go for a stub in that case...

If I have the choice, I'll definitely consider that. Not sure when they stopped making the Royal Violet, but if I find one for a reasonable price, I'm not too picky about the nib. Pen Seller from France sells stub nibs for a fair price, or I'll keep an eye open on eBay.
