Hello to the Waterman freaks (as I am...),

collecting Waterman since about 22 years, my stock has grown up to 250 pens or so. It was more than 400 but I sold the cheaper models and only kept Expert and higher. I specialized for the modern Waterman, starting with the CF.

Here i will show you the Man 200 that takes a large place in my collection.

Have fun with the pictures.....

Kind regards,

Volker

I have always loved the Watermans. These are all XF, except the Phileas, which didn't come that way:

Phileas- Red Marble

LeMan 200- black

LeMan 100- Solid Sterling

L'Etalon- Solid Sterling

And my husband has a much loved, and thus beat up LeMan 100 anniversary-solid plain brushed sterling. For some reason, this pen has the best, smoothest nib of all of them. It is his only pen. He bought it in the late 80's, I think. He says he got it right the first time and thus there is no point in ever buying another one. I keep it cleaned and inked for him.

I have an Edson Ruby red. It has a fine nib and I plan to switch to medium. Two Carene: black and orange lacquer. A Centennial, I think it is called Le Man 100. An Expert that I received as a gift -- green.

I also have a number of ballpoint pens by Waterman.

To my surprise, quite a few. Waterman was my first "serious" pen after the school Pelikanos, a Laureat I lost, and then a Maestro to replace it, a pen I still have. I staed attached to the brand for quite a long time. After the death of a dear frend, his widow gave me one of these pens, a lovely Waterman Préface, which triggered my fountain pen interest: I own only three, maybe four pens at this time, and I have now over 30, and sold more than that. Other Watermans: a 521/2v, broken now, but still enjoying the incredible nib; three Philéas; one Waterman Strong. And as I am an idiot, I sold one of the most wonderful pen I've ever owned, a Waterman le Man 100 Opéra...

Waterman Fountain Pens-a silver plated Executive [i think], a black Executive, a tortoise Executive, a blue marble Lareate, a grey marble Lareate, two blue marble Phileas, a stainless Hemisphere with gold clip. I have a pencil and several ball points. The one I want now is a light blue Perspective. I wish they came with a 1.5 mm italic nib.

I currently have 10 Waterman pens:

Expert II - F nib

Hemisphere - M nib

Apostrophe - M nib

Laureat - F nib

Kultur - M nib

Graduate - F nib

3 Forum - M nib (1 plastic, 2 metal)

Ici et La - F nib

All the pens, except the last one, are more than 15 years old.

Until recently I thought this pen was another Laureat, but it turned out to be an Apostrophe. At the bottom, a pen I originally thought this was a Phileas, but reading through FPN I now know it is a Kultur.

Wow your pens are beautiful, especially the marble and gold ones in the first line.

I have a Waterman Hemisphere green marble ball point with gold clip and accents but it exploded on me and when I say exploded I mean came apart in the worst way and I couldn't get it back together. :crybaby: I need to have it fixed. I want to find a version of hemisphere that is black marble. I am also curious as to what the fountain pen version of Hemisphere feels like.

I love the size of Hemispheres, as I have small hands, they are the perfect size and weight, and the writing is smooth.

Hello Onion,

Great post.

In 1979 I purchased two FPs and one pencil:

- a Directeur General in stirling silver,

- a C/F in stirling silver-moiré and

- a blue pencil.

I'll post some pictures later.

I'll like to have some more vintage FPs.

Keep it going.

With love,

If I travel internationally I will only take one pen with me and that is a stainless, gold trimmed Hemispere ball pen. It's small size is perfect, and does not represent a large outlay if nicked. I had a friend who had a set of MB 149s, Cartiers and other writing goodies nicked from a clutch bag whilst on a train travelling from Rome.

I have had my Hemisphere for around 12 years. It has gone through the washing machine, and no problem. I have given a number as presents.

Yes they are quite strong pens. I've taken mine everywhere and it always stayed shiny. It's not super bulky and it just feels very nice. And yes I am so paranoid about my pens getting nicked too. Almost like a car...you don't want to ding it!

Red marbled Phileas fine nib -

I do have a Waterman rollerball. Never was able to get ti to work right, whether I was using a brand new cartridge or an older one. I have had better luck with rollers with much smaller price tags.

I have a Laureate I've recently dug out of the box and am now using it every day. I bought it new in 1991 for $65. I have the original box, International Guarantee card, and everything it came with. It writes very smoothly.

I recently gave my Waterman Laureat set (FP & RB) to my wife. She was so appreciative, she just bought me this for Christmas:
