My Waterman inventory has recently been reduced (I traded my Phileas for a Levenger/Rotring 600). Currently I have a Dauntless (I think a US made model) from c. 1944. It has a flexible fine/medium nib (perfectly usable without flexing, even for a leftie overwriter).

I'm a latecomer to Waterman -- after years of focusing on Parker and Sheaffer -- but I've picked up a few nice pens:

1 Waterman Laureat – a gift from a late friend

3 Hundred Year pens – a regular in blue, one oversized in red (with pencil) and one oversized in jet.

2 Model 94s – one in moss agate, one in steel quartz

1 No. 5 in jet

1 No. 7 in emerald ray

1 0552 set (I’m a sucker for the basket weave overlay)

1 0552 ½ V (ditto)

1 Patrician in moss agate

Nothing against the modern pens, but the old ones are the ones I'm interested in.

Jack,

noticed you have the white marbled medical set like one I have just acquired ( pen pencil thermometer holder). Does yours have 2 rings on the caps or one and

do you know which model of fountain pen is included.

First time poster here. Let me see ...

I currently own two Waterman fountain pen:

Phileas (marble blue, medium nib),

Moonlight Hemisphere (black, medium nib).

Many years ago, I have used cheap fountain pen with disposable cartridges. I did not quite like them as they tended to leak after some use. I then switched to fiber-tip pen. It was not until within the last two years I went back to fountain pen. This time around, I decided to look for ones with either bladders or convertible cartridge. With convertible cartridges, I seemed to have solved the leakage problem.

Insofar as my experience with these two Waterman fountain pen are concerned, Phileas is easier to use, probably because it has a medium nib. Also, since I use it the most (at work and at school), it did not take long before it became responsive to my touches. On the other hand, Moonlight Hemisphere is not as easy to use, probably because it has a fine nib. (Fine nib = greater pressure concentrated over a sheet of paper.) Unlike my Phileas, my MH has not been used as often (used at home only), which would means it probably requires more use before it becomes responsive.

I may try out some other brands in the future, but for now, I feel content with these two Waterman models.

Jost one, so far, an English 1950s 515 D button filler in grey with an exceptionally nice semi-flex fine 14K nib which I recently picked up from the good folks at Classic Fountain Pens. Am amazing nib, smooth yet giving a lot of feedback. I have other nibs as smooth or smoother and as flexible but none which can give the same sense of feeling the paper that this nib does. It's addictive.

I currently only own two Hemisphere Steel/Chrome, a pre-2010 fountain (havana ink) and a recent roller (black ink). My job requires I use a ballpoint, so they don't get much use, but I'm thinking about a Black/Gold or Black/Chrome Perspective GT and I might go for the ballpoint this time. I like pens with simple, modern design. Pens like the Expert, Charleston or Carene don't appeal as much to me.

Only 4, but have another 3 coming :roflmho:3 overlays and a BCHR 52. Another 52 with original box coming, and a 42 with a OB nib and a Canadian ripple.

Nice. Currently only 2 Waterman overlays for me. A little harder to find & expensive....

Sadly only a Hemisphere Brushed Stainless Steel - M nib. Hopefully I will very soon own a ringtop! (I hope I am doing this correctly for my first post...)

I am relatively new to the FPN myself bit I reckon your post is OK.The Hemisphere is a very good pen , with respect,I would not be sad about it One of our State Members of Parliament In Queensland Australia who is a Minister of the Crown uses a brushed stainless FP I have a Hemisphere ball pen and I am very pleased with it. The matching pen is on my "wants list". My sister brought me a Philaes from Waterman in Marsellies. I also have a Man 100 Centennial (and I have the original commemorative nib archive) with matching jotter, a gold filled Gentleman FP, and a green lacquer gold trimmed Patrician jotter. I love the Man 100, and regard it with the same affection as my P51s, P75sand Sonnets. I have given a silver filled cap Carene to a colleague who did a big favour.

best wishes

I own Red & Black marble swirl 'Phileas', a Blue see-through 'Kultur', A Black 'Cerene' and also a stainless steel/chrome plated one which I cannot identify. I am hoping there is someone who do me the honours.

I am very surprised that no one has been able to identify my Waterman Pen. I am doing a database of all my fountain pens and this one and the Noble one are the only ones still un-identified. Never mind, I'll put them down as ANONYMOUS.

After much delving into the World Wide Web I think I may have found the identity of my pen. It looks very much like a Waterman 'Allure'.

I can update my database now.
