Is it possible to buy extra nibs w/section for Phileas/Kultur pens, Carene, or Laureat? It would be sweet to swap out the M for a B now and then. I see Cross is selling them on their website. Thanks

LeMan 100 fountain pen, in solid silver

Patrician fountain pen, in coral red (x3)

Opera fountain pen and ball pen set

Rhapsody fountain pen, in red ripple

Gentleman fountain pen, in full gold plate

Laureat fountain pen, in gun metal

Phileas fountain pen, in green marble

Expert II fountain pen, in black

By the way, I also used to work at the Waterman Pen Service Center when it was located in Boston. Any questions I can answer by all means let me know.

Hah!! At the end of the line here after 25 pages!!

I have a couple Watermans...

1 Phileas in Blue marble (M)

2 Kultur in blue with clear section (F) one still in pkg.

1 Kultur in blue with black section (F) still in package

1 Carene(M) in a brown/green mottled finish (camouflage?)

1 Carene(F) in Royal Purple

1 Carene(F) in Royal Blue

1 Laureat(M) in blue marble

1 Laureat(M) ballpoint in green marble that my wife uses.

A favorite? Hmmm...the Laureat is the most comfortable to hold and it loves Classical music. The Phileas was my first "collecting pen" and it feels delightful. The blue Carene I waited and waited for loving the style and color. The purple Carene feels regal. I'd say the blue Phileas is the first I would ink up cuz its such a happy pen.

I have, to my delight, two Waterman FPs:

1. Waterman Harley Davidson - Horizon Blue. Medium point. One of my favourites - writes fantastic - wet and almost broad !

2. Waterman Harley Davidson - Combustion Black. Fine point. This too writes splendid, though I am not very fond of fine point nibs. Gives my handwriting a new look, which I like !

Rgds,

HG

2. Matte finished Concord with a medium nib

3. Matte finished Concord ballpoint

It is a great pleasure to write with them. Love them all.

I have several Waterman fountain pens:

Modern Phileas

Modern Charleston

Modern Laureat

Modern Expert II

Modern unnamed student(?) type

Lady’s pen c. 1930

Vest pocket safety pen c. 1903

Large lever fountain pen c. 1899

Eye-dropper filled pen c. 1884

I carry the Phileas daily and I use the other modern pens

regularly at my desk. All are a joy to write with. The

old ones are all quite usable (I must admit I don’t fill

the safety pen or the eye-dropper) even though the 1899 pen

leaks a bit.

I have a couple of Watermans but they are all modern ones:

Chrome Hemisphere, gold trim and a medium nib

Blue Phileas with a medium nib

Green Apostrophe, gold trim with a medium nib

Red Harmonie, gold trim with a medium nib

I really enjoy the medium nibs but they are also slightly different between the pens which just adds to the fun :)

Hemisphere, black with gold trim, M nib, purchased in 1998 from Fountain Pen Hospital -- my first FP in nearly 40 years (grammar school).

Philéas, red, 0.8mm stub, from Richard Binder -- a great writer (of course).

1 Audace, Midnight Glamour

2 3 Hemispheres - blue shimmer and metallic green, gold shimmer

1 2 Smart Experts - blue, brown shimmer

1 2 Charlestons - black with gold, ivory with gold

I just bought my first Waterman - a clear Kultur. I mainly bought it as a nice looking, cheap demonstrator to show to people who are not familiar with the internal workings of fountain pens, but it writes so well that I am actually using it a lot.

Next on the Waterman wish list is a nice vintage hard rubber model with a flexible nib, but that will stay on hold until more funds arrive.
