A purchase earlier today brings my first vintage Waterman pen in four years (since I sold the Taperite in 2005). Accompanying my Phileas fps and rbs, and my Carene rb, I will soon have in my possession a lovely blue/bronze Lady Patricia from the 1930s.

Shoot...I just realized that I've answered in the other thread as well...oh well.

I have two Kultur demos: blue and clear. The blue pen holds blue ink and the clear pen holds black ink. I converted them to EDs today and the clear pen's flow issue appears resolved by this conversion...not sure why.

I suspect that I'll be very happy with these two for another two or three months and then the collector bug will sting again...and next time it won't be $50+ink...more like $200 or so...lol...sigh

Does anyone own a Waterman rollerball and what are their thoughts on the ink refill?

The refill I am using in a Waterman Expert rollerball is a Pilot G-2. However, I want to go back to Waterman's rollerball refills. I like their smooth wet feel.

I would like to use Waterman's rollerbal refills but I have read that they are the easiest to wash off compared to other inks. Tests were made and Waterman came out the worst. Knowing this irritates me! Does that bother you when we got Noodler's inks and Uniball 207 to compare?

I'm caught between wanting to enjoy rollerball refills and hating the fact that they are not fade proof, water proof, chemical proof and so on.

Any thoughts on this.

1 Phileas, blue marble, med

1 Expert II, Blue, Med, to be delivered next week from streetfair, e-bay

I am not in the collector classification......just have 2 different mfg's pens I use time to time for enjoyment. Low cost Waterman has worked well for me. Have no idea what a $200.00+

pen writes like on scratch pads or school paper.

I love Wateman nibs, but especially the vintage ones.

I have a I just bought a 52 RHR with an accountant nib, said to be among the finest points ever made, but it's not writing especially fine. I'd like to get it q

Try again:

I just bought a 52 RHR with an accountant nib, said to be among the finest points ever made, but it's not writing especially fine; I'd like to get it made finer.

I have a black Charleston with an XF nib; not fine enough but a nice-writing pen.

A brown/red Laureat, an XF and still not fine enough....but a nice-writing pen.

A 1938 403 black hard rubber with a sterling silver basketweave overlay I bought at the Ohio Pen Show. It's a bit tricky, I'm not sure the bladder is holding very much ink, it seems to run out. I had it ground finer at the show and it's quite good in that way.

An even older chased hard rubber lever fill that writes quite nicely.

I do like Watermans! I'd like to get more vintage ones with proven XF nibs.
