Aurora Hastil

Thank you for a great review. I have two Auroras and I was recently able to acquire a Hastil (my third) with the box*.

I was little disappointed to find that the default filing mechanism is not that good. Your post is agreat help. I will try to find a parker slide converter.

Aurora Hastil comes with a number etched on the grip section. Can anyone tell me what it signifies?

The price of hastils appears to vary wildly from ~$100 - $500. Is there any major qualitative difference between these pens?

*The box itself deserves some comment :)

I know this is a few years later, but this review is still the top review for the Hastil, so I figured it's still relevant to post here.

Haven't bought a Hastil yet, but I've been eyeing them for a while. From what I can tell, the Hastil is still being made and sold new by several retailers, with an MSRP of around $500. Vintage ones can be purchased for quite a bit less, but then you usually have to find a converter, such as the Parker converter discussed in this thread, which is still widely available. If you are the sort of collector who balks at the idea of using non original components in a pen, the trik trak converter is still floating around, but quite a bit harder to find and significantly more expensive.

I have a Hastil fountain pen and a matchin ballpoint. Does anybody know if a matching mechanical pencil was made?

Victor.
