Reform Pens

That looks sweeter than a 5 pound sack of sugar.

It makes me wonder if the Reform I happened upon would also be on the "finer" side ?

I like something a little heavier and a fine to medium line and a little bit of feedback.

Those aren't bad looking pens - Enjoy them !

I like the 1745. I have a couple of slightly larger Reform pens also. I put a Waterman No. 2 14K EF nib in one 1745, and that was a slight outrage. Works, though. The Reforms work better than a whole lot of more expensive pens.

So now I am intrigued about the Reforms.

I see several people bought their pens from "Smeden"

Can you tell me if he/she has a website or where I can look at the pens ?

I am thinking I might want to try one of those before I do anything with the brown pen I recently found.

"ALVIN W- Germany No. 180 1-BR. I didn't want to do anything with it since it is in it's original packaging.

Perhaps if I try one and like it, maybe I'd be ok with introducing my bargain pen to some ink ??

Suggestions anyone ???

Maybe a bit off topic: I like the look of Reform 1745 and apparently it writes well also, but all this NOS still floating around after all these years. Anyone any idea how big their stocks were when they went out of business?

Thomas said he thinks the Reform machinery was sold to China. There is still the same amount of "NOS" floating around as 5 or more years ago. Price 2-€5.00.

I guess they send a crate of pen bodies to Germany where it is married with the cap....so it is 'made' in Germany.

That goes for the 1745, P-120 & P-125.

The old Reform pens were very solidly made. I have a War Reform pen and a War Cento...a pen also made by Reform for another company. Real solid class.

As mentioned the original owner would never have made a 2/3rd tier pen like the 1745.

Hey, for the price you can't go wrong.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.
