Noodler's Blue Eel

I have Eel Gruene and Eel Turquoise and both of them are excellent. They smell like hand soap, but write like liquid Teflon on paper. I have a Jinhao x450 for each of them and also a Pilot Varsity for each that holds a large supply for daily use.

They're flawless inks with gorgeous, vivid color and shading and have excellent water resistance, too. I cannot recommend them enough.

Damn...I was thinking of getting that green from Swishers in my last order. LOL!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Binder's XXF Full Flex nib on a white tortoise...WOW! I have a white tortoise and hate the nib so don't use it. But you gave me a great idea ! Thanks.

I was considering this ink. Now I may have to go for a sampler size.

Looks (at least on the monitor) exactly the kind of blue I want.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Just ordered some Noodler's Eel Blue, Turquoise Eel and Heart of Darkness Black (my favorite). I will have to order some of the Eel Green shown here. It looks super!

best,

Just to clarify, presumably eel blue is different from noodlers blue?

Yes the Eel inks are specifically lubricated and the Ndlr's does not have that. Both are super nice colors and well behaved.

Thanks for the reply. How does this ink compare in colour to Noodlers Blue? Is it more of a blue ink as I find Noodlers Blue to lean towards green slightly?

I only own about 5 bottles of ink, but Eel Blue is one of my favorites.

Re: the remark that it takes a while to dry--this is true. But it is rich, bright, and smooooth.

If drying time is a problem, I discovered, while testing 41 Brown, that diluting the ink with plain water completely conquers the smear.

What ink/water ratio did you use?

Thank you for this review!

I used Blue and Black EEL inks in my Pelikans and they became buttery smooth like never before

What ink/water ratio did you use?

With Brown 41, literally half and half. Still a beautiful color with much shading.

With the new GI green, one-third water. Little difference in color but really cut down on smearage.

I'm eager to try this with a navy blue ink mixture that absolutely smears.
