I recently started drawing again. Like a person who enjoys playing the guitar but who's pretty hopeless.

Ive now let let the fact that I'm (bleep) not be a barrier to my drawing.

I like drawing with FP but really struggling with any level of believable shading to get any sense of depth.

Ive also tried working in pencil which gives more chance of shading, but would prefer to stick to FP if possible.

It's J Herbin Perle Noir btw.

I saw this in a picture from the Codex Telleriano-Remensis:

Well done Drafty, it looks awesome.

Thanks Pterodactylus (awesome name btw - I sense from your work and that name you are into drawing creatures) - I was just doing the above pencil draft and surfing fpn when I saw this thread and took a snap. I think I'll do a big proper eagle soon.

Hey I see you alternate between digital and material. Your reptilian eye coming through the paper (on previous page) is stunning. Your use of colour is just inspiring.

As is Pira's.

I need a tip on paper types actually. I use Canson dry media paper cos I mostly do pencil stuff but seeing some of the art here...I want to use colour.

Can anyone advise on pens, nibs, paper etc. My paper just sucks with fp ink.

This is based on a tattoo I found on the web. At least it looked like a tattoo.

I would reference it but I can't find it now!

I drew it for my other half for Valentine's

Thanks Drafty, I´m looking forward to see your next drawing.

For ink drawings I use most of the time Mondi IQ Selection Smooth 160g/m2

It´s not expensive, very smooth and work really well with ink (even doing a wash)

He did not materialized yet, but who knows.....

But some of his colleagues and relatives materialized quite some time ago

I posted this elsewhere but I thought Ptero's dragons might want another friend.
