Why would you be embarrassed to post that? It's awesome!

Thank you! But I have miles to go before I think my work can reach the level of sophistication on this thread.

Like they say, "draw daily" is my mantra from now.

Two recent life drawing sketches done at a Dr. Sketchy's event with Noodler's Kiowa Pecan in my Hero M86 bent nib pen (and some waterbrush shading):

I love this. With the ink color, it is reminiscent of the old Dutch masters sketches.

I don't know if you are still around, Ewa, but I wanted to say that seeing your work online a couple years ago is what got me interested in fountain pen drawing and J. Herbin inks. These are great.

Really nice work. But what is a "Dr. Sketchy's event"?

This is what I drew today with my Kaweco Sport Ice filled with Herbin Cocoa du Bresil, on a watercolor background (Borden and Riley, Paris Paper for Pens), then added colored pencil.

Danielle, like you I enjoy using Kiowa Pecan for my sketching. Also, use a water brush at times for some wash effects. I like the free use of line you show in your drawings.

I'm adding a couple of sketches I've done at the Monday Morning Sketch Group gathering at your local Arts Center. We gather for 3 hours of drawing every Monday morning. Below are two sketches. The one of the boy is drawn with a Noodler's fountain pen and highlighted with white pencil the one with the fellow with the hat is a fountain pen sketch with colored pencil added. both were done with Noodler's Kiowa Pecan ink

Sorry, the © is what I put on my drawings I post to my Instagram page.

Drawing: Ben Grimm, The Thing. Drawn using Noodler's Heart of Darkness for the lines and J. Herbin Gris Nuage for the shading.

Another Monday drawing session. Noodler's pen and Kiowa Pecan ink.

Great work -- this is really nice.

I have a technical question for you: is this inked over a pencil sketch (even just a light one to get the proportions right) or completely done in pen and ink?

Thanks.

It is a twenty minute sketch without a prior guide drawing, strictly a pen and ink Sketch. We have a group of people who love to draw. We get together every Monday morning from 9-12. We hire someone to pose for us and have a 20 minute pose, 10 minutes to stretch (both for the artist and the model) and keep that going for 3 hours. Great practice.

My working method is to start at the top of the head and work my way down getting the basic lines and then go back and do the shading and develop the tonality. I did the sketches in post 750 the same way.
