I love the Huntington and I love your work.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

A recent illustration for a silent auction to raise money for a new play our local theater is trying to bring to town. TWSBI 580 EF on Tomoe River Cream paper with Noodler's Black Ink. The lines thickened up a good bit when I scanned it. The original is a bit cleaner. But this gives you an idea of the piece.

That's awesome, it reminds me of my favorite illustrator, Daniel Mróz.

This is what you do when waiting for your number to be called at the Santa Monica DMV. This was made with a Fisher Telescoping Ball Point Space Pen (I know...not a FPN) just because it will not break when keeping it - conveniently - in your front pant pocket...post-115941-0-21357500-1411356363_thumb.jpg

How long did you have to wait???

:) and this is the sketch that landed me in the Doctor's office...attachicon.gifOcean.jpg

What kind of doctor? ;)

How long does it take you to do one of those sketches? That looks like a lot of drawing!

Thank you so much!!! Wow! To be compared to Daniel Mroz is quite the honor. I'm humbled and definitely thankful. I appreciate your comment!

Wow, as my daughter would say.... Kari and Pookie. (She couldn't say any "ssss" at the time.)

A quick afternoon doodle on a Nock Co. Index Card using a Pilot Coletto Gel Pen (I know, I know, it's not a fountain pen):

It's the ship's name that made me laugh.

I had originally thought the ship's name would be something profound and powerful, the way a proper battleship should, but in the end, "SS Doodle" just seemed fitting somehow.

What a nice thread. Lots of talent and more than that;I like to see what people think about when the hand and a pen is engaged and how they think and see. Very cool.

Two things I could get at on the inter webs. They're both kind of old and I honestly couldn't tell you what they where done with. The proa is colored w/gouache and the color scheme comes from an old sailing painting that I've seen on occaision over the years. The rum was scanned and colored on the machine. It was done one morning with a hangover.
