FPN's PEN ART GALLERY

Titivillus

Recommended Posts

Another friday, another sketch session. This sketch started as a freehand fountain pen sketch, with color accents added with colored pencil. The pen was a Noodler's pen with Kiowa Pecan ink and the paper was strathmore Toned Tan sketch paper. The original sketch was 9"X12".

Has lots of character - very natural. Love it.

I started using fountain pens again primary to draw, although I've enjoyed writing as well. I drew a lot when I was much younger, and I missed it. It's starting to come back to me, and I just love drawing and sketching with real, live, wet ink. <g>

Here are a few recent drawings/sketches.

Friday and a couple more sketches. Both sketches were done using Noodler's Kiowa Pecan and a Noodler's flex nib pen. The tan toned paper was Strathmore Toned Tan and the cream paper was Stonehenge Cream 90 lb.

If you think everything is going well... you obviously have no idea what is really going on!

I really love the UEF nib, it is super fine which is what I wanted for architectural sketches. Plus, it has a decent amount of flex so I can make thicker outlines. Ink lasts a long time in the pen. However, the nib is a little temperamental as to what paper it likes. It works well on drafting vellum (which is what some of the above were drawn on) and finer papers like Rhodia and Stillman & Birn. It absolutely hates cheaper paper.

Overall, I enjoy and wouldn't get rid of it.

Your architectural renderings are absolutely superb. Well done!!! I've been seriously considering a Platinum with the UEF nib and I think you've just pushed me over the edge. I'll be ordering one shortly.

Very well done!!! I would love to see some more of your work.

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

Yep, i suspect I will be ordering shortly as well. I have a nice Scheaffer that s UBER fine, but zero flex makes for less than enjoyable drawing.

Thank you for your kind words. I don't think you'll regret the UEF, its a wonderful nib.

Here are some more. I do have more perspective drawings but they have not been scanned and I don't know when I will have the time.

The scanners at my school are filthy but, some may be able to tell what famous American house this is by its floor plan.

Wow! so much nice work. Hope you don't mind, but I thought I'd throw one in.

My wife tells me that I don't draw or "doodle" like I should.

And to be honest I had never thought about using a fountain pen.

SO, here's a quick effort using my new Nemosine singularity demonstrator.

Sorry for the quality of the picture (and the drawing), I'm at work....

BTW, It's a tree...:)
