FPN's PEN ART GALLERY

Lovely work as usual, Andrew!

I have a question about the portrait work in particular -- do the people you do the portraits of (or their families) ever get to see the finished pieces, the way we are fortunate enough to experience here on FPN?

@Andrew_L I don't know if I like the pen or drawing best. That pen is so handsome,  and that tarnished silver goes so well with your elegant drawing. Happy New Year and Peace 🕊️

Thank you so much!

@inkstainedruth They see only when they order own portraits, or friends whom I'm drawing, but the vast majority do not, because these are people unknown with me:))

@yazeh It's not a silver body, it's stainless steel with blacking in stripes, but it's one of the best finishes on fountain pen bodies, and definitely the best on metal one.

In a way that makes me really kind of sad, that the family and friends of the people who you don't know will never get to see your work, the way we -- here on FPN -- are so fortunate to be able to enjoy on a regular basis.

You shouldn't be sad about this:))

I like how you simplified the hair. It totally works though.

Thank you very much! Gray hairs are quite difficult to draw without creating a dark background.

Lovely work as usual!

I do have a question about the ink -- is "Luminous Blue" the same as "Serenity Blue"?

Thanks. I have no idea. This may be a predecessor, because Luminous Blue is from the 50s-60s, I'm not sure that Serenity Blue existed then. By the way, at the request of one friend, I checked this ink and it is waterproof, although this is not noticed on the box.

Thanks! That's very interesting.  Because I don't think Serenity Blue is remotely waterproof....
