The Ukrainian resistance to an armed invasion reminds me of the people who created the framework of our government, willing to give up everything, including their lives, to live free in an independent Democratic country.

Andrew

What does judoka mean?

Breathe. Take one step at a time. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not getting older, you are only moving through time. Be calm and positive.

Not necessarily Japanese martial arts, judo is included in the list of Olympic game disciplines. Judoka is another name of judo athlete.

You don't have to be Japanese to do it, but It originally comes from Japan. 😉 Judo means "gentle way".

Lovely work as usual!  But I do have a question about the ink.  I'm not familiar with "Luminouse Blue".  Is this a new ink?  A new (or old) name for a more standard Waterman ink?  Or what?

(Not of course that I need ANY more inks.... :wallbash:)

Or what?

These are old (vintage) inks from the 60s that were produced in France under the Jif Waterman's brand. I think it's regular blue ink, the name is changed just to prevent patent claims. I have a large bottle with a capacity of 1 liter.

ps: This is average in all terms of properties (flowness, wetness, lubricity, bleedness, featherness) ink, which is similar to Montblanc Royal Blue by color, and when I need to adjust/tuning any nib without the personal wishes by owner, I adjust/testing this nib on this ink

Thanks for the information!  I have a few bottles of modern Waterman inks in various colors (including a partial bottle of Absolute Brown, which is apparently now discontinued (I liked running that ink through a vintage CBHR Waterman Ideal ringtop I picked up at an estate sale).  And am getting low on Waterman Mysterious Blue (which I keep running in a vintage Parker Red Shadow Wave -- mostly because it just looks SOOOOO good coming out of that pen....

Yes, usually vintage ink is safer for vintage pens, although there are exceptions))

Wood Duck, watercolor and carbon black, such a pretty almost unreal looking bird, much like their very close relative the even more showy Mandarin duck, the female ducks of the two species look surprisingly alike.

Had to look this species up. The other one is more common. Beautiful animals, Aix galericulata. You did capture it well.

Thank you, this one is what we have here native to North America, we only get to see the Mandarin in captivity, often in aviaries or a zoo. There used to be lots of them at the San Diego Zoo. I took this picture of a wild bird that was walking on a rainy day, a couple years ago.

Thank you Ruth! I used the little Sheaffer 5-30 in the pic with the only really good waterproof ink that I know of, Platinum Carbon Black. It works well with watercolor.

Thanks!  I have a bottle of that but haven't tried it (usually when I want a waterproof black ink I reach for Noodler's Heart of Darkness).

My own drawing efforts are rather amateurish compared to what I see here, and honestly, I prefer pencils most of the time when I'm not creating messes with watercolor.  But I do love to draw.

I did do ink drawings for this past Inktober, but I mostly used drawing pens like Copic Multiliners and Pigma Microns.  Here is day 21 "Rhinoceros".
