For a long time I planned to draw this famous modern Japanese artist – Fuyuko Matsui, but unfortunately I could not wait for the next Japanese pen, so … Fuyuko Matsui and one of her famous works “Nyctalopia”.

She is very beautiful.

 

I looked up that artwork. "Nyctalopia" means "nightblindness". So I added her name to the search and found that photo among other things.

Thanks!  We can't keep up with the real artists(well, I can't!), but it's fun and we have gotten so much better than when we started doing this during the shutdown phase of the pandemic.  We've explored all sorts of techniques and materials.  I have found I actually quite like oil pastels because of their smoothness.

I got some watercolor pencils for my birthday last week. Haven't had the energy to do something so far though. This everchanging alpine weather isn't helping either.  Sensitivity to weather is a thing here.

Unfortunately, you don't mean the many words for snow used in Greenland and the many ways BBC presenters characterize rain.

A friend of mine went to college in Southern California (not sure if it was LA or San Diego)  She said that the local news weather people had to be REALLY creative because the weather was the same most of the time....

OTOH, she grew up in the San Fransisco Bay Area and her house growing up had no basement and was basically built on pylons -- due to the earthquakes....
