Ink: Sailor Ink Studio 123

Pen: Nib Creaper with vintage Waterman nib and Pentel water brush

Paper: Midori MD Cotton

I love how brindle fur coloration looks, but my pen and ink skills aren't really up to the task of rendering it with line. As such, I'm trying to do it with the magenta/teal patchiness of the ink that I can get with a waterbrush. I can then (at least theoretically) focus on using my line density to try to render light/volume. No idea if it's accomplishing that goal, but it still looks pretty cool, and showcases some of the chromatic features of the ink 🙂

New one. On the simple side. BUT... no lines on the paper this time? I used my new LED light Pad* to trace the guiding and use blank paper. 😉

Rohrer & Klingner "Lotte" for the baselines (Lamy Joy with Z53 M), J.Herbin "Perle Noir" (Lamy AL-Star with Z50 M) and "1760 Rouge Hématite" (Lamy Vista with Z50 1.1) on watercolor paper.

*) Reminds me of my prepress job back in the day when I had to expose film on rare occasions and check it the light table. At least this gives one the ability to read upside down, mirrored and both at once.

Love the geometric pattern @Astronymus, thanks for sharing!

Beautiful work as always, @Andrew_L

I would actually be pretty down for a long sleeve shirt of these colors (hopefully they come through somewhat):

Ink: Pennonia Zuzmó

Paper: Midori MD Cotton

Pen: Noodler's Ahab with heavily customized untipped flex nib

I know I'm much better at drawing small animals than cartoon fantasy humanoids, but that doesn't stop me from trying.

Well, you're still something I'm not -- an illustrator.

I can draw stuff if it's in front of me, and if it isn't exactly what I need it to look like I can fudge the results.  But drawing stuff out of my head is really hard for me to do.

This is actually something that I struggle with, as well. For the drawing in question, I actually used around 5 or 6 different reference images for different elements of the drawing

And now for another, a Chihuahua:

And I guess I should have mentioned the pens a inks. Noodler's Ahab and Boston Safety pen using Bulletproof Black.  And Noodler's Ahab using Noodler's Kiowa Pecan. Tombow brush marker for the grey.

Indeed. Andrew_L had to fill this thread basicly alone.

Hope to see more of your work, people. ✍️ 👀👍
