No, but now you've got me considering getting a sample of the ink the next time I put an order in someplace....

It's a nice color for sure. Has a cool antique look in that squirrel drawing. I do think it would probably shine more in a wetter pen. I'll have to try that at some point. The effect with wash is pretty stunning, though. For now, I have like a million (mostly Vinta) ink samples to try.

Usual pen, Midori MD Cotton, Vinta Leyte 1944. Not my best work, I kind of rushed it. This ink is almost exactly in between Alt-Goldgrün and RO Bronze.

In my family, we always say "rabbit" for good luck at the start of a new month. No month is more important than January, because that affects your luck for the entire year.

Ink: Vinta Bodabil 1920

Pen: Noodler's Nib Creaper w/ vintage Waterman nib

Paper: Bristol board (unknown manufacturer, probably Strathmore)

Nice drawing, as usual.  The ink is interesting looking.  I haven't tried any of the Vinta inks but that one does seem to be a nice color.   Thanks; my wallet is of course saying otherwise, and the inks I haven't tried yet -- some of which are samples from about 8 or 10 years ago at this point  -- are going "Ahem!  Remember me?"

😄 Hahaha, this is basically what has lead me to changing the ink in my pens nearly every day for the past week. Right now I'm cleaning out some Vinta Sikatuna Sandugo, and it looks like it might take a while even though it was only in there for a day 😔. Bit of a stainer, that one. Very pretty, though.

The Vinta inks are really cool. Lots of complex colors, lots of stuff that changes color as it dries, lots of heavy sheeners. I liked the Bodabil a lot better than I was expecting. Not only is the green sheen nice, but I like how dark it is. Pretty nice for drawing. I did a drawing a while back with Noodler's North African Violet, but it's just kind of weird to see a squirrel rendered in such a vibrant violet ink.

I don’t bother at all about color of ink - the main thing is volume, is a light and shadow. :) Cucumbers can be red and peaches can be cherry color :)

You are of course correct. I do like the particular shade of the Vinta Bodabil, though.

More doodles! (scans, this time)

This is a drawing of a very early medical x-ray image. I decided to try going over it with a waterbrush a few days after drawing it and it's got a pretty nice effect. Ink: Vinta Aegean Armada 1944. While it looks at a glance to be kind of a dusty violet color, it's actually a combination of magenta and teal, not unlike those Sailor Ink Studio inks or Vinta's Sirena. I think I might have used my Ahab with the untipped modified flex nib here, but it's hard to remember 🤔. Also a waterbrush. Midori MD Cotton paper (which actually takes water surprisingly well for such thin paper, not that I've tried to do multiple layers, yet)

Sleeping sheep. Ink is KWZ IG Green #4, but I don't think the color comes through very well in the scan. Creaper pen with Vintage Waterman nib, Midori MD Cotton paper.

Ink: Noodler's Akhmatova (the color doesn't really come through in this photo)

Pen: Nib Creaper with vintage Waterman nib

Paper: Bristol Board

Akhmatova seems a tad bit on the spready side (though not as bad as Chekhov, which is unfortunate, because I actually really like that color), but luckily it can be completely tamed with Bristol Board.

@Andrew_LOh, I like how the pen used was the one that the guy designed!
